Conquest hitting

Am I crazy or is it very difficult to consistently score tons of runs while grinding conquest, even on like veteran difficulty? I feel like they’ve made it more difficult to score in past games to make grinding for XP and missions/goals more time consuming. It honestly could just be me, but I’m running through these conquests without completing these goals as fast as I’d like to. Any tips?

For me when im rolling, Im scoring 8 plus runs a game. But with that i get a good amount 1-0 or 2-0 games with extras. I had an 8 inning conquest game that was brutal.

I agree, it seems harder than usual

I finished the USA map yesterday and had a lot of 1-0 and 2-0 games as well. I also lost a few. I played mostly on All-Star. Admittedly, though, I am not a good player.

Yeah, hitting is harder across the board for me. I’m sure some will say it’s still awful and rewards bad input but so far, if it’s not inner PCI and perfectly timed it’s an out. If it is, it’s a single. I’ve been playing this game now most days for two years and I’m now on day 4 in a row without a HR - playing veteran and rookie against the CPU. Yikes.
Feel feel to make fun of me now if that’s what you enjoy. My ego isn’t tied to my skill level at a video game.

I was never precise with my PCI and am now paying for it, admittedly. BP can correct that, I hope. I just finished the Jazz map and had a couple of 1-0 wins, and had to escape a based loaded jam with a 1-run lead on All-Star, which seems a little harder this year.

I'm barely winning Rookie games 1-0. Doesn't seem to matter what difficulty you play on; the CPU plays the same across the board.

As someone probably even worse than you are, and playing on 20, they have definitely ramped up the offense for the AI.
I still hit homers on veteran, but my output is down a bit, and the AI gets at least 1 or 2 no doubt homers per game now, and when I get a single they almost always turn a double play, causing me to have to go to extras in about 33% of the conquest games I play.
-
I’ve had too many occasions where I’ve hit the ball in the gap, mostly right center, and the RF doesn’t have to move at-all. It could also be my joystick as it’s still making noises when batting.
-
Glad to know it’s not just me. @TheGoaler_PSN said it right, I grew accustomed to getting rewarded for not so perfect swings. I’ve accumulated some bad habits.
I wish they didn’t always over correct- there should be a mode that’s somewhat easier. But I’m glad they addressed the issue.
I will say, this definitely makes me want to avoid online. I don’t stand a chance. I’m all for a challenge and last year I could win online maybe 30%. But I think it’s clear with this years game that I would be way in over my head.

Games also seem slower to me

I felt the same way until I really ramped up my team. Also I used to use a custom hitting view in conquest, modified strike zone high but I find straight strike zone now works best for me. Another thing I did that may have made a positive difference is I've kept my PCI higher than I'm the past. It seems that has helped a little. But if you can boost your team that will help a lot.

Yeah no, Conquest just sucks overall. I'm not too good at the game myself, but I find myself dominating in every other game mode on MLB 23 on All-Star (except PvP, I'm not suicidal. Crazy? Yes). Conquest comes along and just say's "Nope." I can't even win a game in the 3 innings on Rookie. ROOKIE. I'm lucky if I can score a run in Conquest and keep the game low-scoring or tied, let alone watching the A.I. just blast every precise pitch I throw (used to be a pitcher IRL) for no-doubt Homers or perfect line drives for doubles plus extra. Having a good team means nothing (including the real-life habits of the batters) when the game mode just sucks. I hate playing it, but I have to, if I want to complete certain events that roll out for a week or two. It never should be mandatory. Optional at best like it is for the month-and-a-half long Team Affinity series.

Dropped 26 on the Rockies earlier today in a conquest game. Ultimately I get bored and tend to swing at trash that results in weak contact when I’m struggling to score in bunches
