Hitting

Is the hitting harder this year? Because i get GOOD timing and is a missing swing ️

It is trash. Sure you get more singles and doubles, but power is straight nerfed….it’s like warning track central but by god you throw. A good pitch under zone… forget about it… bomb

I am currently playing 2020, and as of last week, even on veteran and rookie, the AI hitting is SIGNIFICANTLY ramped up. They have suddenly stopped chasing as much, foul off a million pitches per at bat and are hitting a minimum of 2 no doubt homers per game in conquest.

i hear you on the AI - showdown is a perfect example this year -each mission i passed easily / i truly expected it to be a touch more difficult to win

I absolutely love the game and hitting engine this year. The entire game plays better and just makes sense. Way more cards are usable and details matter. I will say that for some reason I can’t hit at all on rookie this year.

There's a big difference in how the CPU plays this year. Even on the lower difficulties, they play much better.

I don't mind it on veteran as much because there was almost no difference than rookie, but sometimes after getting smashed by some 900 level player online I want to play offline and smash the AI as a way of feeling better, and sometimes I just want to not think about anything and just get a lot of hits.
Suddenly AI in conquest is becoming a chore.

It is definitely harder, but hitting is great this year. Much more realistic, which I think is frustrating people that just want to hit 10 homeruns a game. I'm loving it.

I don't think I am upset about it, but rather just noticing. I usually use rookie mode in conquest for 2020 when I am going for my daily goal of pitch x number of innings or x number of innings for x team.
I then load 5 guys or one pitcher onto my roster play conquest and done. There is not a ton of online action on this version, but the guys that are there are 99% of the "get gud" crowd that will mercilessly mash you into oblivion, and the 1% remaining are new accounts that usually quit even against a bad hitter such as myself.
If there is one thing I find frustrating about the change is that a lot of my outs are literally right at a player, and by right at them I mean they don't even have to move to get the ball.

Hitting is more realistic no way everyone should 9 players hitting .300 and mashing home runs
-
It feels harder in a sense that you can’t get all of your runs from cheap home runs. You have to string together hits but I love it. It feels much more realistic all around. It’s not perfect but it’s the best it’s ever been in my opinion.

This. Last year I could put up 8-12 runs on All Star and triple that if I played on Rookie.
This year; I'm lucky to squeak by 1-3 runs a game on All-Star. Don't talk to me about Rookie.
I also hate to say it; but I think it has to do with them taking out wind even in offline modes. Plus your SP/RP/CPs stamina is junk and needs fixed. There is no reason for a pitcher to be gassed after 8-9 pitches. Especially when the CPU is taking pitches and fouling off everything near the zone.
If I want to grind PXP withy Starter; I shouldn't have to worry about either taking them out/them getting hammered in the Second Inning because they're either already in the red or out of stamina completely.
