Quick pitching in the current event?

Anyone who says this tactic is not an advantage to the pitcher and is purely an attempt “to make the game go faster” is not being completely honest, IMO.
This is not to speed up the game, so much as it is to keep your opponent off balance, force bad swings decisions, etc.
Of course nobody will admit that. They are trying to win, and will gaslight you if you complain about it (you don’t need to adjust your batting gloves).
Then you can step out or pause. What could you possibly have to do between pitches that you are not ready to go throughout the AB?
Do you also like to replay every HR and diving play and not press X between innings to get speed up the process?
*3 inning event game takes 45 mins

I’ll make an adjustment, if facing an opponent that does this. What else are you going to do?
I’m not going to smile and go, “thanks for quick pitching me dude, I was in a hurry to get this event game over!”
Cmon now.

If you are quick pitching the batter CANNOT pause or step out because you instantly go into the windup.
Just admit it you like to cheese.

That’s false. Just admit you can’t hit.

I have always admitted I can't hit. It is CHEATERS like yourself that can't deal with people who are willing to call you out on it.

Please explain how I’m cheating by not taking the max amount of time between pitches? If you can’t hit it doesn’t matter if I take 1 second between pitches or 8 seconds, you’re still going to get out. Learn to hit better and just beat your opponents.

Still waiting for you to explain how I’m cheating...
If making excuses/complaint posts about this game could improve someone’s ability to hit you would be a top 10 player.

Guys. It’s not rocket science. If your opponent wants you to slow down your pace pitching, they will probably tap R2 once or twice. If they do, and you are not willing to slow down even a little, it’s not cheating per se, but you’re definitely exploiting the game’s flaws.
It’s really not that hard to take an extra second before pitching. It used to be common to take a FEW extra seconds when your opponent’s pitcher is at the plate, to give them a chance to pinch hit.
Do you HAVE to slow down a bit for your opponent? No. Is it cheating if you don’t? No.
Is it lame and kinda poor sportsmanship? Yeah, I think so.
The guys that exploit the game like this, tend to spin it in absolutes, like it’s a black and white issue. “What do you need to do between pitches? Why aren’t you ready to hit?”
It really isn’t a black and white issue. People of all ages and backgrounds are on here. It’s pretty easy to back off the gas pedal just a tiny bit.
If you’re unwilling to do this, that’s fine, but imo, it’s kind of an a$$hole move (news flash there are plenty of those playing this game online). Now do those guys want to admit they are playing like an a$$hole? No, they’re going to gaslight you.
Happy Boxing Day!!!

Funny thing about this guy is he admits openly that he quick pitches, but somehow does not expect me to believe he isn't also bunt cheesing, R2 spamming, pausing for almost the entire game clock and any other exploits he can use.
And I disagree. Quick pitching is cheating. If you are not allowing the other player to pinch run, pinch hit, or get his bullpen going while the quick pitcher can do everything he needs to do IS cheating.
But I don't expect cheesers to understand as they have no conscience or care about their actions so long as they get what they want.
Since SDS refuses to police their own game, while rewarding cheesers, but will not allow us to police ourselves then it's doubly annoying to me. I wish there was a way to block certain players so you can avoid the cheesers. Even if it means I have to wait longer than I want for a game.
Edit: I am not saying you are doing this, but a comment on cheesers in general.

Lol why would I “quick pitch” to speed the game along and then spam R2 and pause for the entire game clock to slow it down?
I don’t need to cheese to beat anyone. I play the game straight up. I win some and lose some but I don’t cheese anything.
I just get annoyed by the same group of people who post nothing but complaints and excuses on this board about why they can’t win online or why they don’t play online. I can’t even find a normal or positive post from some of you guys, it’s literally just this same nonsense over and over.
I promise if you put as much effort into improving your hitting you would notice that you can win online and beat the “cheesers and cheaters”.

You admited to quick pitching, so you expect us to not believe you are exploiting all day long? Keep telling yourself that.

Again, it’s not black and white. People can post about certain aspects of online play that could stand improvement without being incapable of winning or hitting online.
Just like people can play the game at a faster pace without being cheesers or cheaters.
I’ve only been playing 22 for a couple months but I have a winning record in RS and BR (can’t find my overall events record). I generally don’t play much past the 500’s and would say I’m generally average at the game.
Does this mean my opinions on the gameplay online are irrelevant?

I’ve matched up against well known members of this forum multiple times the past few years in both RS and Events and they’ve all been good clean matchups with us messaging each other afterwards out of respect to say Good Game. Why would they do that if I played like a D-bag?
You also need to define what quick pitching means to you. Some think it means pitching once you beg the ball back, some say it’s if you balk, some think it’s slide-stepping. I pitch quickly, AKA I don’t take long between pitches so the game moves along. I appreciate when my opponents do the same. That’s it.

No I’m saying calling things exploits and cheating that aren’t at all is wrong. There’s a lot of members of this forum who admit to not being able to hit well online for various reasons. Some choose to say it’s because of their own skill level and amount of experience and others like to blame the game or their opponents for “cheesing, cheating, exploiting, blah blah blah). This is where git gud is born from because it’s like a broken record.

No, but you still keep defending cheating. I have seen tons of videos of 800 level players going online just to cheese and annoy other players so they can "entertain".
People like you are just arrogant because you are better than some and even though you could win "clean" you like to rub their noses in it for kicks because it makes you feel so superior and you can offer your unintelligent "get gud" when called out. If you tried that against 900 level players you would get destroyed.
I don't mind losing like I did the other day when I had a 2-0 lead in the 8th and left a curveball hanging on a guy I should have beaten handily, but when someone has to cheese, especially when I see their player stats and know I would not win anyway is the problem.
But you keep telling yourself it's ok, because I am not at your level and "your just having a little fun"

I think you’re confusing me with one of the other posters in this thread, my dude.
I’m not defending anyone. If anything, I’m on your side, but I’ve found that really the only way to counter opponents that pitch like that is to just make an adjustment.
If I tap R2 once or twice to suggest to my opponent to slow down, and they do not, there’s not much else I can do.

What are you even talking about? I literally just explained to you that I play the game straight up. I don’t cheese. I’m not elite at this game, but I’m pretty decent.
Keep telling yourself that everyone who is better than you or beats you is cheating or cheesing if that helps you feel Better about yourself. It’s ok to admit sometimes that your opponent outplayed you. Move on to the next game.

Playing you right now. Dude is cheating.
