I know there is a lot of angst about people quitting games and not allowing it to play out (despite the comeback logic that is notorious in this game). I am one who is guilty of quitting when I get down 2 or 3 runs. But it is funny how this thing sometimes works out. I was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 10th in a Ranked Seasons game. I got a single and then he intentionally walked the next man, so there I was with based loaded, 0 outs. Then of course I managed to screw up and make 2 easy outs via the K. But damned if that last guy (Vlad Sr.) didn't come up with the game winning RBI single. I see the same kind of thing in some of these showdowns, where the better hitters fail to get it done, then you are down to one or two remaining outs and you get the key hit with a 'common' player at the bottom of the order. It is overall infuriating, but sometimes persistence does pay off............

I'm like 65-45 in RS. If it's close I'll play it out, even if we're both K-ing to outlier all game. If I'm getting trucked by a goon who's tanking, no thanks.

I don't know. I pitch in the zone more than half the time out of a sense of honor. Unpredictably, I hope, and I avoid the corners, where people hunt, but it's still in the zone. It's fair, I know, but I can't stand players who throw nothing but balls knowing that most people want to swing.

Yes, I can see where you might be confused. But what I am saying is that this thing really will take you down to the wire and then suddenly you get the hits you need. That was my point with being bases loaded and 0 outs, then went on to give up 2 easy outs but still pulled it out at the last gasp. But trust me I have had a few where I was down in the bottom of the 9th and came back. I remember one with Vlad Jr, down one in the bottom of the 9th. 2 outs and 2 strikes and he hits a laser to left with low exit angle but just clears the wall on a rope. Pretty sure I went on to win that one. Another I recall is I was the away team and went up by 1 in the top of the 11th only for the opponent to tie it again in the bottom (I recall it was like the 3rd lead I had blown in the last half of the game). Took the lead back in the 13th and held on for the win. I guess, the main point is, the game (like most I suppose) is erratic and totally unpredictable, so grinding it out makes sense if you are willing to commit the time.

I mostly always attempt to hit the strike zone or just outside of it (with the slider and changeup especially). So if he beats me on a fastball on the black then so be it. Most of the big hits I give up are still 'mistakes' catc hing too much of the zone, but then I am primarily playing in the 400-600 range so not that many ringers in there generally.

Sorry, but that never happens for me. It happens TO me plenty. Last night playing a total cheeser, but managed to keep him in check. Suddenly last inning no matter what I threw it went everywhere except where I aimed it. This cheeser was chasing low and outside all game, and I got a perfect release and of course instead of going low and outside it was literally in the dead center of the strike zone and crushed for a come from behind homer to win.

Player of the game should have been SDS AI. Player input means nothing.

    Working as intended.

So it just happened again. I was doing a showdown mission where I am down 2 runs and need to come back and score 3 runs before recording 15 outs. I literally made 13 outs with 0 base runners (I actually did get a hit in there but botched the baserunning. Then with 2 measly outs left I get: walk, double, and a laser HR with the number 7 hitter (a 64 overall Wellington Castillo). This game really is ridiculous!

Please. You'd have your WS Icon up if that were true. WS players don't swing dong in forums like you do.

I usually don’t quit early in ranked season play, but in the event I’ll quit early if I get down in the first, and I’m grinding to get the 30 wins. In my opinion it’s just easier and makes it go by quicker. If the really wanted to improve online play they would have more of a punishment, like 30 minute bans from online play, losing a win in the events, something like that, but everyone is guilty of quitting early and I think it’s because there really isn’t any penalty for doing it.

I don't mind players quitting so long as they don't dashboard. You already get the L and if you are losing anyway is getting that bronze card that big a deal?

Today my opponent had a no hitter going into the 7th. I had hit 5 balls out of the park but 3 feet outside the pole. Meanwhile he had a 3-0 lead (all solo shots), but I had struck him out 14 times through 6. I think I only struck 6 times. Long story short I scored 5 in the seventh and 5 in the eighth and won 10-3. Even if things look horrible just remain calm, it usually evens out.

check my last 5-6 years playing this game - you must be new here if you haven't seen me or Miju or Mitch - many of the guys from 2017 leagues - my RS is 27-1 playing primarily around 500's - what does that tell you?
