Still too many idiotic animations in the infield. Still awesome compared to five years ago but why can’t they get rid of all of the slow stupid tag/throw animations?

Or the fact that every throw from the outfielder to the catcher goes to the first base side of the plate so the runner is safe 100% of the time. The animation for the infielders is also a huge contributor to enabling bunt cheesers to survive. If they would just get the ball and throw it right away at least 25% more often the bunt cheesers would be out.

Instead SDS rewards cheesers and freezers. But a lot of the animation issues are because they are lazy and don't want to fix the size of the field. While the infield is too small, the outfield is downright TINY, allowing even average speed defenders to chase down balls that should at least be a double for an average batter. Instead of fixing the issues though they went with the lazy and cheaper "work around". They make outfielders stop an inch behind a ball to let it drop for what is supposed to be a single. There are many other examples of this type if issue, but I have completely given up hope that they will actually fix the problem.

Any glitch that does not cause SDS to lose customers will simply be continued in the next version of the game. Every season is basically another coat of paint slapped on a pricey roster update.

    Okay, I'll bite.

Conversely, super-fielding. Why do so many average or even bad fielders turn into Ozzie Smith / Kevin Keiermeier in the field?

Maybe it's the video game equivalent of a make-up call?

this especially is the case vs the CPU, you go Marcel Ozuna out there making willie mays catches and average infielders doing their best Brooks Robinson imersonation lol.

I will say I am glad they toned down the dives, early in the year the IF would dive like 10 feet, slide like a penguin, and catch almost anything lol

If anything, fielder movement needs to be tuned down. If all fielders played at 100% hussle every play, it would turn into a miserable game tbh.

The running animation to 1st base is nonsense on a dropped third strike, they SLOW DOWN like its a single....

The dives are stupid, although they did curb it a bit, its still unrealistic. Maybe save for a quirk (Superman quirk or something)

What gets me is the stealing jumps, that makes no sense.

    Biggest problems are

    1. Fielders are ball magnets -- it's a lineout simulator.
    2. Fielders are WAY too big relative to the field. This one makes a huge difference.

This is a massive problem online. I played a guy this summer who had Frank Thomas in left, Gary Carter at third, Yordan Alvarez at short and Jose Ramirez at second. Eventually he pinch ran Kyle Lewis for Ramirez and put HIM at second. These players, most in premium defensive positions had a combined total of ZERO errors.

I guess as long as the money keeps rolling in they will continue to downgrade the show into cartoon baseball. As proof I offer 99 power Ozzie Smith.

Not to mention the intentional slow motion of a 99 speed runner trying to steal second base while everyone else is moving at normal speed so the worst catchers in baseball can throw them out with ease is a joke.

Don't forget the kangaroo hops at EVERY stadium that turn potential triples into ground rule doubles!

The dropped 3rd strike animation is so ridiculous…. How they drop the bat, start walking and then look back and start to run lol pisses me off

Super fielding and incorrect glitchy tag and throw animation are two separate issues.

Im not talking about every shortstop having the range of prime Ozzie, I am talking about when you are playing guys that run the bases aggressively and your players act like tee ball players the way they throw and tag. As someone else mentioned when throwing home the ball home the ball bounces got he first base side of the plate and the catcher receives the ball like a moron and waves has extended arm all the way out from the opposite side of the body to apply the tag.

It’s simple baseball stuff that would irritate anyone that had sniffed a Diamond passed grade school. No reason for it to still be in the game.
