My biggest complaint with this years game is the superhuman fielders. SDS really needs to tone that back. From diving plays to running down everything hit. It's ridiculous. They've made this game so that it's either a HR or an out on most of the at bats.
I want to see non-power hitters be worthwhile again. We need more singles, doubles and triples. Yes, this means that the hitting engine needs to be better also.
Overall I was happy with this years game. The content was good.
Yeah when you can't distinguish Kevin Kiermaier from Nelson Cruz that is a serious balance issue and the worst I have ever seen it

Directional hitting more OP than zone hitting. Perfect pitches missing down the middle.
I highly doubt that when ur playing on hof and legend difficult

I'm calling BS on this. If you use pinpoint and input is perfect, it will go somewhere within the par, not necessarily exactly where you aim it, i.e., the middle of the par. People need to understand this and modify their pitching to account for the sizes of different pars for different pitches with different pitchers. Compare the slider pars for 99 Maddux and 99 Chapman. Or any par between those two pitchers.
The par is an excellent game mechanic and you need to account for it when you pitch.
Call BS all you like, it’s happened many times to me, go watch the content creators same thing. I realize there is an area a ball can go even on a perfect perfect. But down the middle or complete opposite side of the zone should not happen on a perfect perfect that I have aimed down and in
I will. BS.
And no disrespect meant. Forums are filled with emotional impressions of things gone awry rather than facts. Provide a vid if you can. If your pitch was perfect, it's within the par.
Here’s a vid, admittedly from early in the year. I haven’t played enough or don’t care enough about the game anymore to check whether it still happens.
I agree that it’s an excellent mechanic in theory, but based on this if it’s purpose is to justify to the user a pitch’s result, PAR is not pulling its weight.
Hopefully it’s just because dynamic PAR isn’t fully developed yet.

Prospects and Future stars better than HOF players and outer PCI allowing foul balls forever. Not sure of one positive.
-
I don’t mind some exchanges especially in programs where I can skip moments. Don’t make them too expensive though.
Bring back Team Affinity. Lots of stubs to be made there

Wait, they both have 125/125 from both sides, right?
That's what the game's come to...

Thanks for the vid. 2 things to consider.
First, the result was "good," not "perfect." That speaks for itself. You're not guaranteed to hit the par unless it's perfect. That's the most important thing.
Second, it must be easier to get a perfect release with pinpoint than it is with meter. There's a reason all the best players (NOT me!) use it. Seems like a perfect with meter is like the throwing mechanic for fielders.
Anyways, I understand your frustration, but the video doesn't provide any evidence that par isn't working...ahem..."as intended." We'd need a video where a perfect release lands outside the par. I don't think that's going to happen.

I have one. It came across today. SDS has to do something about the racist team names. A company that supports the Jackie Robinson foundation the last 2 years let’s a lot of racist names through

I should have been more specific this was referring to the superhuman defense and not about hitting although hitting has it's share of issues

I don’t think the meter ever gives a ‘perfect’ for feedback; I think good is as good as it gets and it always says good when you land on the line.
Which then begs the question how does one achieve ‘perfection’ with meter pitching? Is PAR relevant to meter? I do remember the devs saying when talking about PAR introduction that meter as an interface would yield better results than any other pitching interface. Or something like that. So if there’s no such thing as perfect in meter pitching, what’s the point?

Content has been good. But I would like them to do away with the grinding PXP and try something else. There are so many different options.
Average over .350 on veteran in this series or something just to spice it up a bit. It just seems lazy. The hitting is broken. Perfects getting caught and off pci earlies going for HRs. Kind of just got used to it but it needs an overhaul. I’m still in the mindset a perfect perfect should always be at least a single. Always.
I enjoy the game though.
Please remove bunt dancing and r2 spammers.
R2 by all means but it shouldn’t impact the pitcher. At all.
Also. Please change the way wind ups work. No matter the pitcher it’s quick.

That's fair. Don't know much about meter. Can't do it. Feels like being trapped in Madden field goal purgatory.
Whatever the devs claim about the interfaces, the power players use pinpoint, so that's a wrap. If meter gave better results, they'd use that.
Perfect not being an option with meter is possible and interesting. If so, then the par doesn't matter. It's simply a visual thing.
Would be nice if SDS could provide clarity on this.

Positives-
Once again, this game is the easiest to play and acquire cards without spending actual money. It looked like it might be going backwards at the beginning but here I am at the end of the cycle with more stubs than I can spend and owning every card I want with all the collections done.
Mini Seasons is great for those of us who don't enjoy online play.
Battle Royale program was great.
Negatives-
Pitch confidence needs to go or be seriously reworked. It should not impact the hitter at all. Only should help pitcher's control.
Fielding animations are way too slow. Way too many infield hits given up due to fielder not having any urgency.
Online pitch speeds are way too fast. I play on a top of the line monitor but even on all star, I feel overwhelmed by the speed. For reference, I am older so my reaction time is waning as the years go by.
Online pitch speeds need to be same as offline so you can practice and be ready for online play easier.
Online games shouldn't vary depending on your opponent's internet connection. So many games have lag to where every pitch comes out of their hand the same and then changes part way to the plate.
Make R2 use only once per at bat. It's only purpose is to view pitches, energy, and confidence level. No need for every pitch. It is currently used as a griefing mechanism.
Hitting was awful this year. I kept my stats for about a week online and offline and had a higher batting average on balls outside of the pci than I did inside. It felt totally random, especially online.
Difficulty levels should be the same from start of year to end of year and in every mode. Events should be a warm up for Ranked but so often it plays like a totally different game. All star on events might have slower or faster pitch speeds and reward contact differently. Moments/showdowns to other offline modes as well. -
Also eliminate super fielding by computer. Commentary was awful. Make pitchers get tired no one throws 102 the whole freaking game. Agree on r2. Ridiculous and stop resetting pause timer. 1:30 max with no more than 3 pauses.
-
I think it is beyond time for a ground up rebuild. Odds of that happening so long as there are no direct competitors and people still buy the game? Zero, sadly.

well forever program dropped today, and since I got little else going on atm might as well make a post. this year has been another weird situation of the game being so good and so so bad at moments, like most games but still for a game/series thats been around for so long i feel some of the things that happen just are laughable. so feel free to read, comment, input or just browse on here are my thoughts on the good and the bad of this year
positives:
mini seasons: listen of course its making the bad as well, but on paper, this idea is wonderful. packs that are achievable in a variety of ways, felt less monotonous than conquest, easy to alter teams and playing a somewhat variable computer. great for grinding, offline play. was so much fun esp at launchmarket/content: of course overall the content has been consistent, am I saying its the best no, but getting players was so easy this year. I know the market was weird and I dont buy or sell like stocks, but I felt really with some grinding and some luck I could attain so many very good cards either for free or 100K or less.
throwback packs in events: aweome, tho ideally proabably will be moved to more wins but I love the ease of saying f this event and coming back next event. talking to you verlander
negatives: lol theres so many but for me big few ones:
mini seasons: essentially the quickets way to have a server crash or poor connection is to restart a mini season. oh and when you do enjoy your record being off. also computer pitchers dont get tired and pitch every game is brutal. also the longoria thing. finally offer some better rewards, this willy adames shouldve been 3 months ago
coop: anyone actually play this? offer rewards just like BR like total innings played etc. just make it fun like uniforms or equipment or packs
fielding: groundballs are a nightmare. its bad your first reaction is R2 or RT
misc: announcers are bad, bring back derosa ( who still cant hit a slider) or just make the commentary a smidge better.
events: make them more of an event please, HOF difficutly, actually only switch hitters, baby boomers vs under 23 squads, AL vs NL, certain eras or fields etc. get creative
soundtrack still meh.
finally introduce some new freaking packs. the shop is a joke. add some 80's or starting pitcher packs or something. 99% of the game is standard packs. loved the chase pack but why settle for literally one thing. add so much more there
also exchanges: like why does this exist? let alone ok let me swap my 19210103 commons then have to open the bronze pack then swap moreI don’t mind the soundtrack. Song rights can be incredibly costly and holds up a lot of things in RL. SDS simply does not have the budget that other companies like 2K has and if rather them focus the money they do have on other things like server stability and possibly new legends
