Those hits up the middle

What is with those ground balls that your diamond fielding shortstop somehow just can’t get to despite them dribbling along ?
Is this a case of dice roll determining a hit and then matching animations to it?
I don’t understand it. Outfielders can run down anything under the sun but my shortstop can’t pick up a slow roller up the middle, let alone turn two on it…

Like this? The pitcher is an infielder, and he caught this one…well, sort of.

Ha! Well no, not exactly like that, but nice one!

Ha Ha! That was hilarious!

It's definitely the animation taking over. Now, why there isn't animation for a Diamond Infielder to easily track down a slow roller is the problem. Just like when the Ground Rule Double animation takes over and forces your outfielder to watch the ball drop right next to him and bounce at his feet when he could easily stick his glove out and catch it.

I figured as much. Boy, the gameplay… I don’t think I realized before just how much of a “simulation” this game is. It really gets old after a while.

Funny thing is that you bought the game probably a month and a half ago. Imagine ppl like me playing it since month 1. I had to leave after I completed the extreme program.

Good point.
I almost made it through an entire game cycle without getting sucked in. Unfortunately, it was getting harder to find a game on 21 when I wanted to play, and the promise of mariners postseason cards was there…

I meant to buy the Show '22 when they had it marked down in November to $9.99. NOw Sony has is marked back up to $39.99!! Yeah, NO!!!!!!!!!!! It is available from other sources for $20.00, so I will probably get it soon. That amount for a game late in the life cycle versus the usual garbage at launch works for me - not that on line play is not total garbage still on MLB the SHow 21 over 1.5 years post launch

It's the catch-22 of designing games primarily based on "live content" addiction algorithms -- all the things that suck about your game gameplay-wise will shine brightly in neon lights all year long.
