Don't Play the Power Archetypes At All
-
This has been the most frustrating experience in RTTS I've ever had. Last year I tried the Contact based archetype and it was a lot of fun. Wanted to try something different. Loaded up on Contact and Fielding with my perks and equipment since I'd be getting a power boost from the archetype. Through AA and AAA everything was good. Not OP, but not horrible. Get to the majors and I feel like I'm being forced into the "three true outcomes" type hitter regardless of approach, timing, etc. I have no idea what to do other than start over with my current equipment and perks with the Contact archetype. So f-ing dumb.

So if I get this right, you are upset that your power hitter is more of a power hitter than a contact hitter? It was fine until you got to more difficult pitching? Not sure what you were expecting.
It's more difficult to get attribute points added to contact than power while playing. If you have all top diamond equipment, that will bring up your contact and power up 26 points. If I remember correctly, you can easily bring a power/contact hitter to 125 power 120+ contact. Not sure what position you're using, but 1B/3B/RF/LF pretty much have to be power primary to get a decent arm strength. Although you can get away with 1B as anything. If you're using your secondary as speed or fielding, that's a 35 point difference. That not only will hurt your contact but plate vision as well.
Last year the RTTS players were too OP for DD. They had to nerf them. Because of that, there are only 2 focuses instead of 3.
I don't suggest restarting unless you like your secondary more than your primary. Try changing you archetype from one power to another power.
With 1B/3B I prefer Power/Contact
With RF/LF I prefer Power/Speed
With 2B I prefer Contact/Speed
With SS I prefer Fielding/Speed
With C I prefer Fielding/Power
and I don't like any combo for CF but Power/Speed works the best for me.I will often take out the speed secondary once my speed attribute is high enough to steal safely.
Last year people kept complaining about the loss of the tech tree, so SDS added it back as part of the perks. Now nobody uses those perks and complains about the archetypes and perks being nerfed. Don't blame SDS, blame all those people without constructive criticism that only hated the new because it wasn't the old.
