It has to be the most frustrating

    I know ‘18 program grinds were awful, and that game was homerun or nothing, but still…

    ‘22 has to be the most frustrating gameplay, right?

    It’s not that perfects don’t go for XBHs enough, although that is a problem. But why do so many near perfects result in absolute dog doodoo? An eyelash from center PCI; an eyelash from perfect timing—can of corn. Easy grounder. And if you’re lucky enough to have that swing be a line drive, that left fielder with a 60 fielding attribute will run it down with ease.

    Acquiring cards for the sake of accomplishing missions is fun. Actually playing the game is not.

    Sometimes just posting about my frustration and commiserating with the community makes me feel better.

    Yeah, I feel you, last night I hit a center pci, early side of good timing lineout with Frank against a lefty (125 power lol)

    SDS has said all along that they try to balance the game to be as close to real baseball as possible while respecting that this is a video game and people play it to have fun.

    There are other baseball games out there for those that want arcade results.

    I don't want arcade results, and neither do I want user input not to matter. Is it probably balanced the best right now? No. But if we are just playing Backyard baseball, I'm not interested.

    Putting the game in beginner mode is pretty close to arcade results. I know because that's how I played the game for years. Heck, even in casual mode and playing on AS is pretty close to arcade - I mean, I can go into a CPU game and beat a team 20-0...

    The fact that they give players different modes and different levels of difficulty to play in is pretty nice.

    This game is by no means perfect, and you might even be able to say it's not good, but I don't think anyone understands how much less fun this game would be if it was just PCI on ball simulator. You want all your pitchers having 7.00+ ERAs and your hitters all hitting 600, your team scoring 30 runs a game? That's what it will be if we get arcade results.

    Right. It’s a balance between real life and video game. Plus, they have to balance in the attributes of the cards. That has to matter, too.

    Clearly they realize things are not balanced. And it is the offense that is getting shorted. Why else would they release the beefed up Face of the Franchise cards? I mean, in what universe should Ozzie Smith have 99 power?

    It seems to me they’re trying to increase the offensive production by beefing up the cards because the user input results are out of whack.

    I think it's a little more that fielding needs adjusted and that will help with some of the hitting results that people are having a problem with. I feel like OFs can cover way too much ground in the game. Not just defensive studs like the Buxton types but just anyone in general. Last night I'm doing a BR draft and end up with 2nd half Nelson Cruz and the supercharged Stanton as my two corner OFs. I'm thinking to myself this is gonna get ugly defensively but their 24 and 12 speed tracked down every ball hit their way and they had quite a bit of opportunities. Cruz even made 3 shoe string catches that I thought there is no way on earth he comes anywhere near that ball when it first went into the air.

    Idk how ya'll come to these conclusions, I don't want whatever tf you said, what I'm saying is, if I get perfect input I should be rewarded more than the guy who's getting late hits all the time. As an example: Last night I was playing some dude and he hit a fastball through a hole to right side with good timing, which is obv ok, then hit an inside snk late timing double to score a run, he had like 3 or 4 more late hits that led to runs. I had 3 perfects and no hits to show for them, so you're telling me this guy was deservingly beating me because I'm asking for "arcade results"?
