Once again, despite being one of the worst online players alive, and only having played about 50 games I routinely get matched up against guys sporting GOAT, World Series, Bling, and multiple times against World Series flawless.

There is absolutely no enjoyment in these "experiences". It seems like SDS picks the players they like and will routinely give them super easy wins by allowing them to play scrubs like myself, and also ensuring weak players like myself are virtually guaranteed the extremely humiliating loss.

My most recent spanking came at the hands of another flawless player with over 150 wins over .500. The only "hit" I had was a broken bat pop up that went right to the pitcher for a super easy out. Every single pitch other than that was an extremely humiliating swing and miss.

SDS matchups are appallingly bad, so I can only assume by their own words that it works as intended. So, I can continue to expect many, many horrible matchups that do zero for my experience, but tons of fun for the opponent. This is like taking the bad news bears, minus Kelly and Amanda and having them face the Dodgers.

Match making has worked the same way for years. BR and Events are based on your current run. If you just started a run, you will play someone else who just started a run. This of course depends on how far you let the search bar go. It doesn't matter how good that player is...they could be the best in the world, but if it is their first game of that particular run, then they could be matched up with you.

For events, the current meta is playing a game or two and then resetting the run since there is no real penalty for it. That means you will most likely be facing all skill levels at random 99% of the time. If you're playing events and you still feel like you are getting matched up with too many good players, you also need to remember it's August. Most people who are no good at the game will drop off before the 4 month mark.

Ranked seasons is based on rating. You are more likely to be matched up with people around your skill level (which still depends on the search bar), but even then there are other variables. I play a ton of BR and events, but I don't play much ranked, especially this year. I think my rating fell all the way down to 400. If I decided to hop into ranked seasons, I may match up with someone who is under .500 wondering what I'm doing way down there.

I'm fairly certain geographic location factors in somewhere too so they are at least trying to get low latency.
