Simple Add/Removal Fixes That Will Make RTTS that much better...
-
I've been playing The Show for over 6 years now, and while I enjoy the improvements the game has made over the years, I feel SDS can do lot more to improve the experience of Road To The Show. What I'm suggesting is not a complete overhaul of the mode, but just some simple tweaks that I believe will dramatically improve RTTS and make gamers want to play more than 6 seasons:
-
Multiple No Doubt Home Run Animations: not all homers have the same value, so maybe the animations shouldn't be the same every time. Maybe add a 'Walk-Off' animation and/or the ability to choose 3-5 no-doubt homerun animations and the game will randomly pick one when you convincingly hit the ball out the park.
-
Easier Way To Change Position: if you're 3B, and you're drafted by the Cardinals who has Nolan Arenado, they offer to call you up faster if you change to 1B. If you accept the change, 5 years later, Nolan is old and decreased OVR and you are now better than him, but you're stuck at 1B unless you demand a trade to new team. You should have a the ability in the RTTS settings to at least select Preferred Position and Preferred Secondary Position, so the manager can decide where you fit best for the team without a trade. As of right now, even if this player signs with a new team, he's still a 1B.
-
Smarter Contract Noegtiation AI: it doesn't matter how many MVPs and All-Star teams you make, under 6 years of MLB service, your team won't offer or accept any deal over $5M unless you win arbitration the year before. In real life, a lot of franchises are smart and will try and lock up players they believe are superstars to long term contracts early (e.g Fernando Tatis), but in RTTS, teams will just low ball you until you are an FA.
-
Top Prospects Rankings View: while in the minors, players should at least be able to see where they are in prospect rankings. I want to know if I'm the number 1 or if I'm 12th, so I know why I'm not being called up.
-
Advanced Stats Metrics: it goes without saying that a lot of us want to see our fWar and OPS+, all well as who leads the league in these categories. The mode used to show us how many of a type of pitch we have seen, swing timing and our success rate, but took it out for some reason (probably because they dont want us to see how often the CPU spams sliders lol). Maybe Gold Gloves wouldn't always be rewarded to players with least errors and high fielding percentage all the time if the mode had advanced stats...
-
Loadouts Before Games: loadouts has always been glitchy, but before the next game in a series, it is not necessary to ask me each time to select a Loadout, then ask me again "Are you sure you want to select this Loadout?" It does this even if you only have one loadout to choose from. Maybe after a game, there is a "Play Next Game with current Loadout" and a "Play Next Game with Different Loadout".
-
Get Rid of Unnecessary Dynamic Challenges: if my Contact Left and Right are both 50, dont stop the game to ask me to choose an in-game dynamic challenge that will improve my Contact. Let players improve where they need improvement...
There are some other little stuff that I'm sure we will all discuss in this thread, but I didn't want to overwhelm the SDS development team, so these are my main suggestions.
What do y'all think?

Those all sound good to me, especially those stupid dynamic challenges. I think I maxed out clutch on the first month and literally every challenge I get is to increase my clutch. Annoys the F out of me.
Of course because it makes sense to make that change, SDS will never do it. They'll give you a new song for the jukebox though

Loadouts and dynamic challenges are a must! It would be awesome if you could assign a loadout to a position. Have you ever accidentally pitched a game with your power loadout?
