I don’t know if it’s just me but the pitch speeds seem way faster online that offline I practice on legend everyday before playing rs and I get blown away on hall of fame. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like this or if it’s just me.

They are. And it’s making the game terrible. This year is the year of the elevated fastball.

For me, it makes the game better, fwiw.

I need to be able to see pitches and understand them, I guess. The constant spam FB up is soooo irritating. But anticipating where the ball is gonna go hasn’t worked out for me

I guess I haven't experienced the constant spamming up as much as you. If they were any slower I think high fastballs would be worthless. The way they are now I can crush them if I anticipate it correctly, or I can strike out against them if I don't anticipate them correctly. That's really how it probably should be. I play on a monitor though, not sure about you.

Does your TV have a game mode? That would help.

Okay, it wouldn't be listed under the picture options. On my 55 inch vizio you go to "tv settings" and it's the 4th option down. It says "game mode" and you can turn it on or off. Game mode makes it so you have less delay between when you push a button and your player swings the bat. That's why some of us use monitors because a gaming monitor can have as little as 1 millisecond of delay.

Nice! I highly recommend playing the cpu first. You won't be able to play right until you adjust your timing.

Been playing with game mode all day, I’ve cut my strikeouts in half from what I was at seeing the ball much much better. Although my batted [censored] aren’t going anywhere, I feel more in control, thanks!

This will be my most tinfoil hat comment ever, but is it possible there is a glitch that is making pitch speeds inconsistent? I've faced Oswalt on All-Star a couple times and it felt like he was throwing 120 mph. I've faced other pitches who throw harder than him, and been early on everything the entire game (those kind of games where you hit 20 foul-ball home runs). Not sure what's going on...

Sometimes you just pick up other pitcherea deliveries Better. Guys who have a tough delivery or a delivery that feels like it gets on you quick can make there fastball seem faster. That’s what I have noticed.

100% agree with this. He only throws like 96-97 max and there are plenty Of pitchers who throw harder. Take the diamond Reyes for example. I think he throws 98 and isn’t that hard to hit. Oswalt and kluber it’s like their fast ball is shot out of a cannon...

I don’t know if it’s just me but the pitch speeds seem way faster online that offline I practice on legend everyday before playing rs and I get blown away on hall of fame. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like this or if it’s just me.

I find that a pitchers repertoire can influence my timing quite a bit.

Even if you’re sitting fastball against Oswalt, that 69 mph 12-6 is still in the back of your mind.

Meanwhile, if I’m facing a pitcher who’s main specialty is the fastball, I tend to be earlier on it because I’m so geared up for it.

Pretty interesting that right after I made this comment I randomly watched a video of one of the best players in the world having the exact same issue... being late on everything to Oswalt on All-Star difficulty... I don't feel as bad now?
