Flashback and Legends in A.S. Program

Some nice hidden gems in there for sure. And really I'm glad they kept with the Henchman on these unlike TA3 on last year where they cut them out. It's really a perfect spot for these 90-92 relievers and guys like Victorino and Justin Upton to get their best cards

Tough decision for me between Arenado and P5 Vinny Castilla. Vinny’s been the best hitter on my team.

Agreed completely. The first two TAs were so much fun as a new player because of the henchmen and diversity of missions and having to work your way to the big cards by using them. TA3 of course hit us with the best cards in the game by that point but the lack of henchmen and shortening of the missions and rewards paths really watered down the program and made it more 1 dimensional. I was a major skeptic when this year started and TA was gone but it's definitely grown on me, they've taken the best aspects of TA and just made it more streamlined.

Like I can definitely can concede that the "other programs" section is a significant downgrade from last year, but its the only thing I don't like about these programs. The PXP missions for the henchman is the most fun part of the programs for me, which in general is still better than how stale the inning programs got. The power creep for cards has been almost flawless too imo. To me, player programs is the only thing missing from content. BR and ranked is practically the same, events are more frequent which is better, but you get less creative restrictions as a result which makes events a wash. No one will say it but I truly think everyones complaints about content are simply because the gameplay is worse and they don't want to beat that dead horse anymore than it has.
Not to mention besides Randy and Bobby Miller the lineup diversity as a result of the content this year is by far the best it's ever been

Yep, I also think the Monthly programs are a big upgrade. I realize they are similar but just the way the path lays out and actually having to use the Monthly cards plus the addition of a lightning legend or flashback and those have been a lot more fun.
The progression of cards being released is far better this year.

These cards will help me complete the collection for Brett, so I'm happy for these.

Is it just me or do we get 10 throughout the program? There’s missions for all 30 flashbacks. Am I missing something?
Is there like 3 rounds or something for each pack maybe?
-
I’ve been using all of these cards to grind PXP for featured program missions while playing conquest games. Favorites so far … Mark Prior , Cavan Biggio , Soler , Conforto and Urias. Not saying they’re the best , but they’ve been my favorite of the ones I’ve used. I have used about 50% of them I’d say

Idk, in the last program I was 3 short I believe and I earned every flashback pack available.

Just curious, what map are you grinding? I have them all done, I guess I could do the mystery map but I was wondering if there is a better one to do. I just don't feel like dealing with online for a couple of days.
I thought about making a mini-seasons team with the cards but I don't know if the team would be competitive.

Mini-season gets my vote for offline….set your difficulty per game…I’d have zero issue taking a full lineup of those legend/FB cards through a season. Play on rookie as needed, but should not be concerning from a competitive standpoint.

I just play 9 inning games against the CPU, drives up the stats much quicker than a 3 inning game, mini seasons is a good thought but be prepared to sweat it out against the Cats, Whales and whatever 3rd team is good in your season.

After using these cards to finish up the new conquest maps I ended up taking a few of them into RS to see if I could finish the XP missions so I could get rid of them. In the first game I had Snell pitching. I matched up with a guy who had a RS record of 102-104. I am not much better at about 20 games over .500 with about 220 RS games played. He was using a diamond Smoltz. I figured it would be a fun competitive game. He destroyed me 14-0 and I was mercy ruled as soon as we reached the inning limit. No matter what speed or location I picked it was like he knew it was coming. I even brought in another mission pitcher, lefty Grove, to see if he would pitch better and he got tagged.
So I just accepted the game and went on to play another. With the two gassed mission pitchers I chose Randy to pitch next game. Matched up with someone with a record of 75-40ish. Figured here we go again but this game was different since he was using a mission pitcher. My dang PCI was huge and I scored 7 runs in the first inning and shut him down with Randy. Since he didn't quit and being a good sport I took Randy out after one inning and brought in mission relief players. Dude immediately started teeing off like the last guy and scored 4. He ended up quitting a few innings later but I am convinced there is something really wrong with all the pitchers from this program in online play. -

I played the new maps upon release with the cards. Also grinding some mini seasons with them along with a Red Sox lineup to get the PXP for Ortiz program.
Usually I grind the mystery map when I have nothing else to do but I also enjoy playing mini seasons. You can most certainly make a competitive team with the legends and flashbacks however don’t be afraid to throw a couple trusted ringers in your lineup if your struggling. I always keep a ringer or two in the bullpen if the game gets close too

Good point on the bench….keep a speed guy and then power insurance…..mine happens to still come in the form of FOTF devers…haven’t gotten the MA version but off the bench got half his stats to get to P4.

I call those ringers 'lineup movers,' trusted performers who get hits when you struggle with new guys swings. One fails, your guy will pick the team up.
