Hey guys! I'm a newer player here (first year of The Show), and I decided to have a speedster theme team (only fast people within each position). I'm used to doing theme teams from when I grinded MUT back in the day, and I figured this one can actually be upgraded as time goes on. I'm slowly building there through grinding, but I am not entirely sure how to fill the holes in some position while staying on theme. Here is what I have so far for the idea:
    RF: Ty Cobb
    CF: Team Affinity Byron Buxton
LF: I'm thinkingRickey Henderson OOP when I get to the level to unlock him, but I am open to other suggestions here because I was told playing people at secondary positions makes them bad
    SS: Adalberto Mondesi
2B: My created player currently being grinded into the speed version of the card

That leaves the 1B, 3B, and Catcher. I'm currently using 79 Biggio at catcher because of 90 speed, but I'm not sure where to go from there. What would you guys do in my position to finish it off? Thanks so much in advance!

Catcher it’s realmuto or biggio (silver unless you do collections). If you put biggio behind the dish, realmuto can play first, then for third, tatis or mondesi can play it as a secondary. I think maybe trey turner can as well.

Look at Tampa Bay team affinity player Xaxier Edwards prospect card, you could put Mondesi at third and him at short.

To clarify, does this mean secondary positions (such as the idea for Rickey) is viable/ what I was told was wrong? I am trying to do collections eventually, so if I do collections what is different about the catcher?

Theme teams are hella fun to do in MUT and you get some good stat boosts from doing so, making it worth it. This game has so much more potential for building lineups but unfortunately it’s not a welcomed addition around here.

They should implement it for a trial year and see how it goes, if it’s not liked...just don’t do it the next year. Kinda like the whole souvenir and Immortal thing from 18.

I'm used to doing theme teams since MUT 25 (even when the boosts were not a thing), and I totally agree that this game can benefit from that addition!

If you collect the whole American League, you get Craig biggio, who has a catcher secondary and gold fielding behind the plate, and he’s very solid back there. Realmuto has a first base secondary so he could play there. I’m not sure what someone told you but secondaries are pretty necessary for this kind of thing

Oh wow that sounds like it would be expensive to do. I'll stick to silver Biggio and do the upgrade last once the rest of the team (including pitchers) are covered. I was told nobody plays well in secondary positions, but what you're saying makes sense.

I don't know who told you that secondary positions are bad, but generally they aren't You only get a -3 to fielding. You just don't want to play people out of position. I play people at secondaries all the time, Ryne Sandberg at third, Sheffield in left etc.

Oh this is good to know! After looking him up, I'll put Mondesi at third once I can snag Edwards for short. What would you do in terms of 1st base if in terms of catcher I'm sticking with silver Biggio until I can grind for his 99 last?

That's a tough one, The fastest cheap guy that has 1B secondaries that I know off is Whit Merrifield with 73 speed
(Bellinger has 76 speed, but he's obv expensive, Realmuto can play first and has 75 speed, so that's always an option to)
