I like what they've done with pitch break this year.
But every year they don't quite get sliders right.

An average sliders might have SOME vertical movement.
The sliders in the game have way more vertical than lateral break.

A good slider starts just off the corner and should break in a sweeping movement glove slide, with some natural drop.

Sliders in this game are more like knuckle curves or even circle changes.

Not every pitcher has the same break obviously, but it seems that more lateral movement would make sliders much more affective.

Right now, they are just sort of a decent offspeed pitch.

    Opinions?

A slider IRL looks like a fastball out of the hand then breaks away laterally to same handed pitcher/hitter last second. It is effective because there is a tendency to think fastball and pull then you wind up hitting it off the end of the bat and hit a weak ground ball to the shortstop.

Ive seen both types of sliders, ones that go straight across the zone with little to no drop, and those that dive straight into the ground.

If we are getting into that there should be a pitch speed differential conversation too.
