It's almost like their intentionally making a larger more prominent " middle class " on the " skill spectrum ". Shrinking the skill gap if you will. How? By dumbing down and simplifying the game. Press one button that's all. Spin the wheel of fortune. Your odds of hitting a Hr are on the back of that digital card you collected.
I'm not saying remove the bumpers aka timing..directional etc from the game. Only in competitive modes where stick skills...not one button skills reign supreme.
There are many horrible players disguised as average players because we don't know if the bumpers are propped up on the lane. Bumpers aren't illegal in bowling only in COMPETITION.
When you tell someone I bowled a such and such. They never asked if you had the bumpers. They assume you bowled with the bumpers down.
Would a 7 year old have a better chance of a strike with the bumpers up or down? Take the bumpers down kid quits because it keeps going in the gutter. Cries and the birthday party is ruined.
Bumpers up, if he or she can just get It down the lane they are bound to hit at least one on the fresh set of pins.
Sure it's still tough to get a strike with the bumpers up but if you had to bet your Rookie veteran supercharged Mike Trout parallel level 74 card. Which would you bet?
This 7 year old first timer gets his first hit of dopmine...I mean strike with the bumpers up or down? When he or she gets that strike they can't wait to do it again. Nevermind the bumpers you still threw the ball (pressed x)...but it was the bumpers that redirected that ball to get that strike.

I swear you two seem to never have played online. Most players use PCI to hit. The fact that PCI doesn't garrentee a homer is great. There has to be a balance between skill and stats of the player card and RNG. Other wise there would be no no players of a lower rating. Everyone would be 800+

I get what you’re saying, but he’s right, I think you should have to use pci above 700.

Allstar and up should be PCI only.

I've played all of them this is the first one where it's like tap baseball just gotta get the timing right now matter how far outside in the dirt up you throw it'll get bombed or blooped. Ive been trying to really give it a chance but online is no fun freeze offs unreal hr it's just trash. I played 20 event and br games the last two days not one person had pci

Also how do you know what hitting interface your oppent is using?

Granted, I've only played 24 RS games but I'm sitting 22-2 (absolutely no great accomplishment ) with a .68 ERA and about 1.5x K's to innings pitched.
So that's AS difficulty and I'm still striking people out quite frequently while allowing minimal runs.
I'm not saying the game is great and in a good spot because it's not but I truly do believe the community likes to own things out of proportion a bit.
I don't use timing, I use PCI but you are correct in that I don't have much skill so maybe I'm getting the benefit of DDA in my favour lol

What are the big differences in 21 and 22 that make you think that? Just an honest question because I can’t put my finger on it. It seems to play very similar to 21 but juiced up defense. It seems like there’s more than that though.

Just my opinion but I think the timing windows are different and for the record the outer PCI which allows you to foul off pitch after pitch is nonsense especially on the 3rd strike

You mean the unbearable lag coupled with stuttering and freezing because some clown with 150ms ping and a household full of people are allowed to compete online in a “ranked” mode?
They don’t optimize the connection at all so every game feels awful to play. I honestly don’t know how people can play this game online tbh. It feels like playing a broken version of the game imo. Just stick to offline the game doesn’t play well enough online to be considered for any sort of competitive environment.
