Get rid of Ballplayer in Ranked

Yeah, there have been complaints about CAPs for as long as I have played DD. They aren't going away. It's honestly one of the reasons I liked Events way more than RS, never had to face a CAP in an Event.
What really makes CAPs seem OP isn't the equipment beefing up the attributes, its that ability to stick the swing you are best with on it. Give me 8 players with a mondesi swing and I would be dangerous. Or in the case of the thread starter, sticking a crazy hard to hit wind up on a pitcher and give him a 30mph difference in pitches. Filthy for sure, but its been part of the game for too long for me to see any changes coming.

Nope those ballplayers don't belong in DD, there way overpowered
RTTS should be a standalone game mode
They just want RTTS players to convert to DD they spend money on packs.

its literrally the worst thing ever. ppl wont complain about caps but will about a field being 200 feet all around. playing on ranked is zero fun when playing somene with a cap. nothing like giving up a hit on a ball in the dirt bc a 5'2 450 lb guy with wild features has max contact and power then 85 speed too. oh and they all switch hit too. the cap really if its going to stay around needs reworked to having max 90 in any stat with equipment

That guy took me downtown the other day. I took my lumps and moved on. I am thankfully showing signs of improvement after a week of being destroyed online.

Honestly the last few games I've just intentionally walked the CAP. Not once did it come back to bite me.

CAP position players may be annoying, but aren’t really game breaking (since you can always pitch around them/walk them). CAP pitchers are game breaking and shouldn’t be in online play since the opponent can’t avoid them at all (ie your ability to have fun shouldn’t impact my ability to have fun). Either ban CAP pitchers or at least limit their deliveries to generic 1 left and right.

Yeah but the CAP cards are better than any of the Legends......not agreeing with OP but maybe make the CAP less overpowered, at least in DD. I man, that idea has been floating around since DD began but SDS hasn't really ever acted on it
Me personally, I don't use my CAP in DD really....but I personally just prefer actual players.
I also disagree with the concept of having "dead players" as being a problem. If anything, it's an honor and it's what video games are made for.......to have the ability to use your favorite players ....Gary Carter is my all time fave. For me to use him on my squad is a thrill.

Yeah it is a really weak opinion to justify CAPs because of dead players. Clearly not a critical thinker. The dead players actually existed. As far as I know there was never a switching catcher with blinding speed named Mike Hawk who had a strong resemblance to Corky.

I agree they should be removed. But, I’m going to keep using my switch hitting catcher with 125 contact and 120 power until that day comes.

So you're telling me you didn't put up enough runs against his starting pitcher where he brought a closer in for 2-3 innings and you lost the game? surely he didnt use a closer for 9 innings lol

It’s not comparable. CAPs are fictional freaks of nature that can throw 100mph side arm with a 70mph change up.
The dead people you’re referring to are based off of actual people who played the game. They still tweak the ratings and pitch speeds for some of them but it’s not freak of nature status like CAPs are.

Caps only really started being over powered last year… Usually the shortstop and catcher and 2nd base were good, but would eventually be outclassed.. The cap closer only had three pitches fastball, cutter and change up and was basically a lefty rob dibble and were out of pens when the big lefties came out… Since 21 it’s all changed. Signature Lindor last year was what most shortstops used to look like until ball player.
