If I hear a guy clicking through their lineup, I just back out. I’d rather it be random
I do that simply out of principle.
I do it only in BR and not Events because in BR everyone knows you can easily change your lineup on your OWN time.
Make me wait more than 5-10 seconds and I back out.

I usually wait till they get done, let them sit there for a second, then back out.

I never cared about this. I just advance as soon as it’s possible. If they take too long I back out because it’s a higher chance of them taking forever between pitches too.

How do you know if you are going to be home or away? I am home 70% of the time and would much prefer to be away. I have a solid connection, but have realized if I match up with someone who does not have a good connection then I am the home team but the lag makes everything a bit off. When I am away everything runs much better and I would assume this is because both of us have good connections. It is not always bad when I am home, but whenever I am away it is always excellent.
So the trick is, If you scroll through your lineup and there is a lag then your the away team. If it smooth like butter, your the home team. Personally I can care less, but for those that try to get every edge, the want to be the home team so the can bat last.

Yes and no. There have been times where I scrolled through my starters to pick a particular starter for a mission and it was smooth. But when the game loaded I was the away team.
I usually scroll down in the Pitcher Select screen and if it takes awhile to do so; I assume I'll be the away team.
But I also scroll down to see how long it takes someone to select their pitcher.
If it takes them more than 5 secs to select a pitcher I wait until they select one and 9/10 then hit Ready, on the Batter's screen real fast. If they do that; I'll back out and select my pitcher again.
I'd it takes them another 5 secs, or more, to select their pitcher and they hit Ready real fast again; I exit the whole game.
No reason, other than lag or trying something shady, does it take someone more than a few seconds to select a pitcher after selecting Ready right away.

This is fine, but the question was "why" on a consistent basis.

I do not home hunt yet, but when I did in MLBTS 20 was not even about batting first or not, it was because of the bad combination of Mc WiFi, stadium, weather, time and date and lag my opponents seemed to have most of the time.

Only thing I will say about home hunting is that created stadiums have zero place in RS and it will ruin the RS eventually. People don’t want an arcade home run derby off pop ups. Maybe some home hunt to avoid this…me I just quit as soon as I see created stadium.

I thought you couldn't use those super short fence arcade stadiums in RS?

@SchnauzerFace its the max elevation ones where a fly out becomes a 400ft nuke that is the problem. Could just be me but imo they don’t belong online. Offline grind away.

Oh gotcha. I didn't think about elevation. I haven't played a single RS game all year so I haven't run into any weird stadium issues.

The fix is simple. Have the players set line ups and select their pitcher BEFORE they connect to the opponent. No more home hunting.

....or maybe just fix the terrible servers??? The only reason why I scroll a couple times is because if it's lagging bad enough, I don't want to play that game. Trying to hit a 100mph fastball with lag is literally impossible without guessing. I play a few different games, and this is the only one with lag issues for me.
