You mean a no hitter, wasn't even close to a perfect game considering the Pittsburgh scored a run

Semantics... obviously no love here. Just saying a great performance and hate he lost a "no hitter" on pitch 129. Just giving some respect as you should.

    It is not Semantics.

It was a fantastic game by him but a Perfect Game actually has a definition, one that requires nobody get on base by any means. Mikolas walked one batter and hit one batter. There were also two errors by the cardinals that may have allowed other baserunners.

Basically a perfect game is 27 up and 27 down.

It does not take away from the outing he had but it was not perfect.

Ok fine... edit the title to "no hitter " through 128 pitches. I stand corrected. Jeebus!

In fairness a Perfect game is baseball history, no hitters happen every season. But 129 pitches this day and age is like 200 pitches in 2002. Hats off.

Oh, and these 1970's cops/porn Star staches of players now having success are gonna cause a problem.

PS: and WTF is Goldschmidt on?

Google Armando Galarraga to see how a perfect game changed to a 1-hitter, which gives a sense of significance over the no-hitters which happen fairly frequently. Without the umpire error he achieved a 28-up, 28-down perfect game which isn't in the record books but a truly outstanding achievement. For sure it's important to know the difference when there are a couple of guys not in the record books because of officiating mistakes.

Great performance by Miles and the Cardinals. The hit was on a very good pitch. I'm so used to Bader catching everything that I thought he'd catch that one too but it just kept carrying.
