So clear now, not that it wasn't before. They've basically put out the same game the past 2 iterations and have focused on getting their tentacles around XBOX and Nintendo.

Next year will be a wait-and-see for me for sure.

Very underwhelmed and frustrated with the copy-paste that this game has turned out to be.

I believe they were forced to by MLB in order to maintain their license, so they probably scrambled to get the game working on the other platforms instead of improving PS version.

Fair enough. But everything in this game is underwhelming compared to last year, from a progress POV. Same menus (even more boring), same grinds, new gameplay problems, nothing new and exciting. I can't commit to the grind next year if they don't improve the game in meaningful ways...

Yeah I heard they were forced to put it on all the platforms, so I can imagine that was an insane amount of work. They probably weren't all that happy about it.

    1. what changes are we expecting? There's only so much you can do with content before it always starts to feel old and stale

    2. it's a baseball game. See ball, hit ball, throw ball, etc. What can, realistically, be changed to not feel like copy paste?

The gameplay this year has been fine for me. In fact, I like it much better than 20 and 21. What surprises me is that we’re a few years in to “next gen” and this game doesn’t look or feel next gen graphically.

I don't think game quality is that bad, the grind in DD is just tedious and boring. Rest of the gamemodes aren't fulfilling, desperately needs Online Franchise.

I don't play any others but I imagine all yearly sports games are very similar to their previous versions.

But I will say the game feels much more like a slog this year, the MA programs in particular.

A DH and preset LHP and RHP lineups would be nice. Maybe less lag and fix freeze offs.... that's a start.

DH makes sense and will probably be here next year. Don't need LHP/RHP mess.

Yeah they’ve really been mixing up the programs with the 8-12 moments on rookie, two conquests on rookie, a showdown on rookie, the same number of PXP missions on rookie, it’s not like they just insert new teams and players for missions, it’s not the exact same every time or anything. Jeez I almost forgot about the 10k xp collection for the Jerseys which is a great change of pace. Another 8 moments on rookie, a copy and pasted PXP grind, a copy and pasted exchange. It’s the easiest and most childish it’s ever been in 6 years and the last 6 years was also a baseball game, see ball, hit ball, throw ball etc.

People need to stop eating up everything they say like they get paid too. They didn’t get rid of TA no matter how many times people say what a great idea it was, they just make you pay for half of it now. 30 FOTF, now 30 Future stars, sorry what were the first two team affinties last year? I’m surprised they even bothered to changed the attributes on the cards, just change the names and some people would never notice.

Well, perhaps make it so that your cover boy can be used like he is in real life without having to research a workaround on the internet?

Or, perhaps, ANY [censored] THING to franchise mode?

Hell, I'll settle for a refresh of the UI so that it doesn't look like one of my 9th graders' done-the-night-before Power Point presentations.

But I guess I'll settle for see ball, hit ball.

(Or, see ball in play, activate Super Mario dive...)

So, exactly who in MLB forced them? Manfart?
This is what happened with Maddens. The league a-wipe, or wipes wanted ONE football videogame. Now we have 2K scared to compete anymore with football, when all they did was make the greatest NFL game ever, NFL 2K5. 2000-freaking 5! They basically did in competition.
MLB wants the same? When EA is capable of resurrecting MVP Baseball?
They got the F1 License and have done well with it, imo.
There's so much to say about this, but there is something really messed up when in 2022, we still have only 1 Baseball, 1 Football, and 1 got-darn Basketball game to go to. Something is very fishy here, and it has flies circling it atm.
    Pew!!
