Why I am not a fan of the PXP missions for hitters.
-
Well, I played one game vs CPU Rockies and I got all the PXP needed for each of the Yankee missions (so I got over 1000 PXP by Yankees) plus the 10x HRs by Yankees all in that one game. I had done all the moments in about 10 minutes time. So I opted to buy an extra 84 gold George Brett for the KC exchange to not do the 500 PXP with Salvy. Easy day...easy program!

I got what I needed for the Gehrig mission - minus the HR's. My point was more about how the pitcher PXP and position player PXP is unbalanced.
It is also less about this program and more about the POTM where you get a card, need to earn PXP, then they give you the next card, and you have to do so all over.
-
It's setup for online play, where pitchers pitch once every three or four games.
-
It's easier for pitchers for sure.
I have a lineup set, but at work now.
I put Gold Babe Ruth in who I rake with, but his other cards, no!
Don't forget to put Yankee relievers, or put Nasty Nestor (Boy is he a talent irl.) in relief of Cole or something.
If you have Giancarlo, and Judge, put them with Donaldson and POM Rizzo -

I was just doing the Gehrig missions and loaded a squad up with the Yankees cards that I had available. I ended up with 7 of the 8 position players and my pitcher. I played the Orioles on rookie.
I didn't have a great game at the plate (not even close), only managing one home run and hitting more than my fair share of hard lineouts and double plays but I did win like 9-0 and I had 20 hits (16 by Yankee players).
The PXP for the game worked out something like this
Jordan Montgomery - 655 PXP
All the other yankee players - around 500Mantle: 2 for 4 with a HR and 4 RBIs
Stanton: 3 for 5
Justice: 1 for 5 (I struggle with him)
Torres: 2 for 5
Wells: 4 for 5
Gregorius: 2 for 5
Kiner-Falefa: 2 for 5They had 16 hits, 6 runs scored and 7 RBIs
All that and they earned less than the pitcher and essentially earned just enough to get a single card to P1. No wonder I am beginning to hate having to get every player involved in a program to P1. They end up staying in my lineup far longer than I would like them to.
It's completely unbalanced between pitching and hitting.
I'll take the pxp missions over dreaded moments and showdown all day

We'll agree to disagree on that one.

The Salvy mission should be 250, 500 is a bit much. But I don't get why you're complaining about the Yankees you did it in one game what's the issue? I think I finished it in 2 conquest games.
Just have to toil away with Perez for a bit

I may not have stated my argument correctly. I got the Yankees missions done in one 9 inning game (minus the HR). That was not a problem.
But that game is what made me realize what a gulf there is between earning PXP with Pitchers and earning PXP with hitters, which ties into the fact that I do not like the POTM missions this year, where you have to earn 500 with one POTM card, then they will give you another, and you have to earn 500 PXP with him, and then they give you another, etc.
If people like the missions then good for them. You'll notice my thread title simply states "Why I am not a fan". It's simply my opinion and my feelings about them.

If it's any consolation I played again on rookie tonight and picked Colorado and won 25-0 so that was far worse.
As for Baltimore - they are just the default team when you go Vs CPU

I feel you. And I certainly don't LIKE them. To me the line is at 250pxp for hitters. When it's 250 I prefer it to last year's method of X home runs and X extra base hits, etc. If you had a lot at once it was a pain to remember who needed to do what, and if you didn't do that specific thing you got no credit at all. If you needed home runs you could go 4/4 with tons of RBIs and runs and stolen bases and it would count the same as going 0/4 with 4 Ks if you didn't hit a homer. That sucks. 250 pxp you just throw the guy in the lineup, do some things, you're even getting credit for at bats, and it's over in a few games.
But 500pxp is a bit much I'll agree there...

I want defensive PXP. Assists, Put Outs. Maybe even something for "Web Gems" Like you said something to balance out Pitching PXP and Hitting PXP. If you're only gonna give me 5 PXP for hitting a single...you can give me 5 PXP for getting a Put Out.

I'm not necessarily a fan of the PXP missions rather than just plain stat missions, but I finished them in like 3 mini season games.
