Stolen Base Mission
-
SDS: “Hey, let’s have a mission where you have to get 15 stolen bases.”
Also SDS: “But let’s make it impossible to lead off or get any kind of jump making stealing bases against CPU impossible.”
Executive SDS: “You’re promoted.”

Here is a tip, don’t take the extra step and don’t run first pitch of an at bat. I noticed my success rate dramatically increased when I did this

I tried to knock that out in the event yesterday. I already had 30 wins, so I put together an all speed team. I would time my opponents delivery to sneak in an extra step, and I still got nailed almost every time. I've never been much of a base stealer, but I definitely feel like it's harder this year. 99 speed/99 steal doesn't seem to mean much.

My 99 steal guys don't leave until the pitcher is getting ready to release the ball. I have zero chance of stealing. Again, just another connection thing.

Simple, play against the CPU (Conquest/mini seasons, whatever) hold R2 to take a lead the CPU almost never throws over, take off as soon as they pitch. I have at least 20 stolen bases since the Halladay program dropped. Use guys like Buxton

It's the CPU Quick Tag that's the issue (Vs the CPU Obviously) They can throw a tag down in .02 seconds while my guy sliding has his foot or hand 2 inches off the ground and not technically touching the bag. But I gotta have the CPU beat by 3 or 4 steps just so my fielder has time to put the tag in.

False. They pick off constantly. Literally anytime you even think about pushing a button to lead off or steal.

One thing I've noticed about this game that wasn't in previous games is just how insane the input reading feels. I'll go dozens of games without ever pressing L2 to steal(or L1 to lead), but the moment I press it it's a pickoff attempt. I'll have Juan Pierre of first 4 times in a game and no slidesteps until the moment I press L2. This one is a different thing but man There's a massive delay in manually timing your steals too. Said Juan Pierre will actively wait an extra second even though I let go at first movement, when in games past if they had a high steal stat they'd leave the moment I let go.

Fair enough, it's worked for me so far though
