As May ends is anyone else still working on April's POTM program?
-
Now granted, I don't play as much as everyone else, but I have finished the main programs (meaning that I have earned the bosses but not reached the end) and I have completed all the conquest maps and even played some games vs the CPU on Rookie to try and get some easy PXP (I am not a fan of resorting to this method)
I also refuse to "rent" players to try and get it done more expeditiously.
But as we approach the end of May and anticipation of a New POTM program is high, I still have Ty France in my lineup and am about 100 PXP shy of finishing his mission. Then of course I get Dawson and have to get PXP with him to get Rizzo and then a ton more PXP if I want to earn the final 4 players. And lets face it pitchers are easy and quick to get PXP with but if you are only an average hitter then position players just drag on and on.
I am of the opinion that they strung stage 2 and 3 missions out too much and they trickle out the cards too slowly for the average player to get them complete before the next POTM drops.
And this is not really a rant or crying, but simply an observation. If I don't get Rizzo then that is fine. I don't care much about that card anyway but if every month is going to be this way the motivation to even attempt these programs wanes considerably.
If they thought that last years POTM programs were too easy or too quick then I think they overcorrected in this version.

Yeah haven’t even started April.. I was going to either start that or work on a Ballplayer
-
The main problem is that they upped the PXP yield for pitchers with nothing done for the hitters. I think PXP missions are fine, just like only require 300 or something for the hitters

Yeah, I understand the thought process for pitchers because online they can't pitch every game so they get more PXP, but let's be honest most people grind these programs offline. You can get close to 500 just in a single game against the CPU on with a good starting pitcher on rookie, but that is nowhere near the case with batters.
I have not even attempted the Nike City connect programs. It seems like trying to do the PXP missions for all of the programs is a sure way to never be able to have the time to field the team you actually want, with your favorite players.

The City connect programs take like 2 or 3 conquest games max if you just load up your team with those cards. PXP with a certain team or series isn't really all that bad because it all adds up at once

That is probably true now but when the first ones were released I did not have a lot of players from those teams and I was not going to buy them just for those programs.

Is that considered one upping or one downing?

I started April not too long ago and I am currently on Stage 2 but noticed that I'm not where I should be though. I'm pretty sure I'm good at match but I only have 117 stars out of the 144 stars that I should have... did anyone else experience this? The full details are in the post I linked at the top of this reply. Thanks in advance for anyone that has the answer or that can point me to the answer or if SDS has said anything about this.

Read my post on the other thread, you only get 13 points for the collection in Stage 1 if you do everything else. The points don't carry over so once you get to Stage 2, any leftover points like the extra 27 for the collection don't carry over and are lost. They only off 13 points in the May and June programs because it was very misleading.

Thanks. Yeah that makes sense even though all the points should’ve still been awarded but I get it as you stated they changed it for the other monthly programs. I don’t know why I didn’t see your post when I was still home on the computer. Just read it not too long ago while enjoying this morning commute.

For sure, we all went through it when it first came out and it's mildly frustrating but you seem like a good dude so I'm always happy to help. @BlindBleeder_MLBTS is a good dude too. Happy gaming.

Everything is so easy this year, I just get it done shortly after release.
My guess is that you rent players, which does make the process much, much quicker. But if you are not wanting or willing to do that then it is a slog as they slowly grant you one card at a time that you have to earn PXP with before you can earn the next and do it all again.

Actually, I'm an old school card collector, just bought Baez and Guerrero yesterday, now I own every player card in the game. Flipping has been very easy for me this year.

That’s what I did from 2015 until I had to stop sometime during summer playing 2019. I think I logged in once on 2020 and never got to play 2021, just trying to get my groove back and stay away from my wallet this go round although I might still spend on stubs in the future it won’t be to the level of 2015-2019. Missing out on some programs has me looking forward to 2023 already but I’m going to get some enjoyment out of 2022 between now and April of 2023.
-
I sell the card and buy another when I get through with there points. It helps move it along faster and you don’t lose out on that many stubs. On the first one I picked 1 hitter and the rest pitchers so I had to because I messed up.
