Relievers in RS

First of all this isn't a complaint thread, I haven't even played Ranked Seasons yet, it's just an idea...
But I think they either need to cap reliever's overall, or be strict about who can slot at long relief, middle relief, and setup (I understand they don't have the cards to support this at the moment).
I just think it kind of sucks that your entire bullpen can be all the best closers in the game. It should be rewarding to be patient and chase the starter, but instead it just begins the parade of elite closers.
I kind of agree with this. For years now I’ve thought it would be cool to be limited to 2 “closers”. The rest would be “relievers”.

I personally think ranked should have a cap to your overall team rating the way they do with events. It would create more varied lineups.

That kind of defeats the purpose of it being an ultimate team mode game though. Otherwise there should be a cap on having 5 of the greatest hitters of all-time chilling on your bench too right?

I agree it’s about card collecting and playing with as many legends as possible

Personally, I would be okay with RS having a cap. I think it's more fun to find values and build an actual team, and they'd still be dream teams for sure. I'm not saying your have to use bronze guys. But I know everyone would riot and it's also not as good for Sony's business so I'm over that.
But I think it's different for relievers. The cap would be the easy solution, but what they should really do is only allow 1/2 closers. And then you would have to actually have long relief and middle relief and setup. And they could just max most of those guys out at like 85-90 or whatever.
I get the point about ultimate teams and fantasy teams and all that, but being patient and working a starter is a BIG part of baseball. A HUGE part. And that's just nonexistent here and kind of sucks.

A closer can be a reliever and vica versa
Even starters play as reliever or closer sometimes

Position players can also play any position without looking like teeballers

Stick to offline. Leave us diamond dynasty people alone. Go play Battle Royale or events if you want capped teams. I'm not playing all year and grinding every program and trying to make world series and playing all events to not have my monster squad out there.

Don't be an elitist loser, first of all. There are better ways to express your opinion. But to address your childish point, you do realize it would affect your opponents too? I'm not saying JUST YOU has to suffer. So you'd sacrifice a few 99s, the opponent would sacrifice a few 99s, and then whoever gets to the other's starter earlier would have an advantage. Which would be a lot more fun.
Also, it doesn't have to be a cap. If they planned it properly they could have a lot more relief pitchers, like King, and these could be part of your grind just the same. Instead of having infinite 99 closers have some setup guys maxed at 96 and some middle/long relief maxed at 94. It's all relative so they'd be just as valuable.

Nope horrific idea. That's what events are for. BR is a draft. Events are your squad with limitations. RS is your best squad.
