CE-34878-0 Error code in application

Everything was working fine up until today's (5/20/22) update installed. I'm playing in Franchise Mode, have played about 75% of the regular season. While loading into my next game, I get this error code and MLB The Show 22 closes immediately taking me back to the PS4 home screen.
PS4 System Software is up to date, obviously the game is up to date, I have restarted the console, & even went as far to restart modem/router (not that it's necessary)...all with the same result.
If anyone has a solution or an idea to help, it would be appreciated?

This really stinks. Same thing here. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, started a new franchise, nothing. Hoping this gets diagnosed soon.

Do a search. I think I covered this exact issue. There's something in the patch that doesn't agree with your router or firewall.

I had this error as well. System and game all updated. I flipped off my wifi and played offline in franchise mode and it worked again. Something not jiving with the internet.

I've got it too. Started new Franchise modes, tried to run my old one. Reworked my PS4 Database, uninstalled, re-installed. Nothing, this patch ruined the game.
It crashes anytime I try to load into a game, I have no idea why?

Just an update. After I played a franchise game offline, I reconnected wifi and played again and no error. Seems to have corrected itself.
Turn off wifi, play a game, (then powered off), then reconnect wifi, try again franchise game again - hopefully no error.

This is a standard code that means the app crashed. I get the same code on several games, not just baseball.
