Why is it that when I use him in center field his fielding shows a gold instead of a diamond?

Because it's ONLY reflecting his Overall Fielding which has Trout as a Gold level in that category. All his other attributes with Con, Pow, Vis, Disc, Spd, Stl & along with Fld, Arm, Acc & Rea is what makes his card a Diamond Overall. The Icon shown when you are fielding is to give you insight with who to risk diving/jumping with or hitting a red circle risk zone & having a better chance to be successful with it or blundering it. So if he is Slivered or even Bronzed in fielding Icon wise, you my want to air caution & not go for that running jump or dive & full force into that red circle risk zone.

Because his fielding attribute is in the 80s. Gotta be in the 90s for a diamond.

I always wondered what that red circle was. I always saw it as a red ring of death, lol that never happens to the A.I.
