probably has to do with having "CPU roster control" or "CPU lineup management" on, in your settings
No. Everything is set to "Manual" and CPU Roster control off. This has been a problem in the past but I was hoping they would have fixed it by now. In the past the only way around it would be to go into Spring Training and edit my rosters again the day before the season starts.
Oh, I almost peed myself laughing at this. Then I cried a little.
RIP Franchise mode, my favorite mode in all of sports gaming.

[censored] tried with Ridin rosters, reduced the 40 man to just mlb 26 and started franchise. Went into spring training and boom back to 40 man rosters

40 man rosters are a requirement during spring training in the MLB. So you can either play the ST with 40 men, and wait until the last day of training to set the 26 man, or just skip the spring altogether. There is no way around having a 40 man roster in the spring.

Isn’t there a glitch where you cannot set the 40 man roster for spring training yourself? You have to end up using options for players when you shouldn’t have to right?

Yes it’s glitched options are not used during spring

That sucks.. it’s annoying bc my good prospects that I wanna keep in AA or AAA I have to use options for to send down to start the year.. shouldn’t be like that…

I've never seen that happen, unless they players are already Rule 5 players.

I remember back in the day I would upload a roster file with just the 25 and good to go then add to 40 man once season starts

Yeah, I mean as long as I don’t use up the other 2 options for the player then I’m good but it just stinks you can’t customize your own 40 man to start your franchise..
