Created Player?

I was curious if anybody on here has their created player in their lineup this year? I’m not a big fan of the change in how to get them leveled up, but I would LOVE to have a solid, switch hitting shortstop in my lineup. Has anybody gone through the grind of leveling your created player up?… is it worth it?….
Thanks!!

yes it is worth it, basically a 110+ contact switch hitter as a part of your lineup

Yep, my CAP is a 95 3rd Basemen from the Mets of the 80's, Howard Johnson. He has 115+ contact and 125 power from both sides of the plate.

How long did it take? You got any tips?

The Grind is real, I probably put in over 30 hours since the game came out in ROTS grinding my player. I was already well into a season when my son told me some trick. He said there is some lineup/roster or something that you can use that makes the Phillies OP and the rest of the teams suck, so you always face lousy pitchers. I wanted my player on the Mets so wasn't interested. The only "cheat" I did was change the stadiums for all the minor league teams to Shippet, so all your AA and AAA games home and away are there. Felt like it made it much easer to hit HR's. Not sure if this actually helped, but just what I did. I left the pro stadiums alone because it was more fun for me, but I guess you could change them too.

I have grinded a pitcher and a hitter so far. Great way to earn program XP.
I never used the hitter in DD but I use my starting pitcher. Pretty effective.
I’m beginning to work on a closer.
The key is to download a RTTS grind roster. All the opponents will be zeroed out and your team will be all 99s.

I will eventually. I tend to always bat him 5th too.
I am disappointed they took out the ability to level within DD this year though. One of the best parts about being able to use him during games (online/offline) was making progress towards a better ballplayer. Now I got to grind through RTTS on a boring, mindless grind a bunch to get him serviceable. I don't understand that decision tbh, why take away more ways to play/level?

They did it because of the exploits for xp towards innings programs last year.

I dont recall what the exploit was but I know there was one where people would just keep the game running while striking out the side over and over while waiting for the programs switched...this one didnt have anything to do with the ballplayer (and resulted in an xp cap). Besides --not like people didn't just grind the hell out of RTTS to get 60kxp/day + program bonuses to speed through the first program.
Although I guess asking SDS to properly fix things is a bit much at times seeing that they've brought in like every in-game issue thats existed since 2017 for this year.

My catcher has 99 on all defensive attributes, 112 power each side & 101 contact each side. It’s a long grind, About a week or so off & on. But totally worth it.

People could sim their player's next game and up their attributes without the grind. That was part of the issue.

I just got to the diamond archetype and am about to start that grind which looks like a doozy. I play RTTS when I know I’m short on time, just run thru a couple of games. Switch-hitting SS for me…
Question, did everybody keep all their diamond perks/ equipment or sell it off? During silver round I pulled the diamond trout cleats from an equipment pack and made about 24k stubs…

I didn't use my CAP in DD last year. Are you saying you can't P5 your CAP this year?

CAP doesn't get Parallel xp. Never did.
I'm complaining about how they just took away the DD related missions to upgrade him which is what I used instead of playing RTTS. So instead of logging innings/hits/outs etc in conquest games and using him a bit underleveled in ranked, I have to log time mashing in RTTS to progress through the programs.

Ah, I honestly just assumed they did like other players.
-
I use a CAP at catcher every year. Switch hitting Crash Davis (team is the Durham Bulls) with 125 power and 120 contact.
