Would you be willing to miss mlb 23, like sds doesnt make a 23, updates 22 along the way, and then come back with 24 but an entirely finished 24, play tested, bug tested etc. Would you be willing to wait an additional year?

If 22 still got content
Oh wait you put that, I'm dumb

Question is why would SDS be willing to do that? They would lose money

I would, but it is a moot point considering they make the vast majority of money from new game sales (I assume). If enough people simply boycotted next years game and found something else to play for the summer maybe the product would improve. I don't really care about content as much as I do clean games with fewer freeze offs.

Not how licensing works. contracts with league require annual release
-
Another year of this mess?! Fck no.
-
It wouldn't work unless they planned it out way in advance. No one is going to be willing to play the second year if the content is going to be a 2nd 99 card of someone they got in the first Year. So from a content perspective they would have to hold Griffey, Ruth etc until halfway through the second year to keep people engaged

Nah, I will probably stick with The Show for a while longer. I have a family and a job, so I do not have the time to invest in another game (COD, 2K, or Madden, etc.) just to be even more disappointed.
I played MVP before this series and up until '15, I enjoyed playing Franchise Mode exclusively, so I consider competing in DD now days a bonus. While I wish this game played more like '16 did (without bunt cheese), it still keeps my attention. I can build a stacked team and dominate Franchise Mode, or collect cards and compete in DD when I have the time.
Either way, I am a baseball fan and this game is still entertaining for me.

All sports games should be released every two to 3 years if developers and their overlords cared about quality. It'll never happen because cash flow will always be numero uno.
