When I look at my OVR related attributes, I can see where the bonuses are applied with the numbers inside the bat and ball icon. There is nothing over my arm accuracy attribute and I know that I have multiple pieces of gear that should enhance that skill. Being an outfielder, it's pretty important to have an accurate arm. Am I missing something, or is it just broken.

    I think it's broken.
I have some pieces of equipment that are giving me SPD and STL (ritual, socks and cleats). I can see the bonus for SPD, but nothing for STL.

I guess it's random as to what is working. My steal perks are being applied.

It's possible that various stats are working and others are not, depending on archetype. If that is consistent across platforms, then it might even be intentional.

On my starting pitcher, I see some stats applied, and some not applied.
For example, the fielding glove has +12 FLD, +8 ARM, +7 ACC, +10 K/9, and +6 H/9. Of them, FLD and ACC do not apply, while the others do.
I should get some more FLD and ACC from my eyewear, but none of it appears with my attributes.
More so, no SPD, no STL applied, although I have socks and cleats that should give me some.

It looks like a pitcher cannot benefit from certain equipment attributes.

Same gear, when applied to a position player, gives all the equipment attribute boosts, we expect. I see all SPD, STL, CON, PWR, etc. Obviously, this player received no boosts for pitcher attributes like K/9, H9, etc.

The odd one out is my 2-way player. He gets the pitcher boosts: H/9, K/9, BB/9, and HR/9. He gets all the batter boosts, but only some fielding/baserunning boosts. This one gets SPD, but not STL.

If someone can confirm the above, with different archetype and equipment, it might actually be intentional.

I see where you're coming from, concerning perks that are specific to pitchers but I can't understand why arm accuracy perks would not apply to a right fielder. Who would need that perk more than an outfielder?

So I had a chance to check the different archetypes and you are right. If I pick any archetype other than the Duke, then Arm Accuracy perks work and it is increased along with the Fielding. I guess if you're able to tear the cover off the ball, you're just automatically a crappy fielder LOL.

So thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I think these changes were intentional, not accidental. They go along with the general direction for The Show 22: you can no longer be great at everything. You will have to choose your archetype carefully to match the position you play.

Oh, and by the way, I found The Anomaly a better archetype than The Duke. You lose contact, sure, but you get loads in fielding and baserunning skills. So, pile up the contact perks and equipment, and I think you get better overall.

Yeah the changes were intentional, I just didn't know how it worked. I was playing last night and got the Diamond archetypes. The Diamond Duke activates boosts to fielding and arm accuracy, and allows the perks to work on them. So I have a Duke loadout and the Anomaly loadout. The one I use depends on which park I'm playing in. Hitter friendly parks get the Duke, but of course you have to do a little homework before the game to see what kind of park you're gonna be in.

I prefer the Duke overall because, IMO, it's better to get the bat on the ball, than being fast. You don't need speed to trot the bases after a homer. I only need enough speed to steal a few bags and to make the plays. Plus, I think it's easier to get speed than contact just playing the games. I've also found that you can't sim a lot of games because your stats will crash. They definitely built this game to have a slower progression.

I still think the Archetype thing is pretty gamey, but it is, what it is.

Last year, while progressing the archetypes, I turned off the baserunning opportunities, and I would still get the occasional stolen base, just from having high speed and stealing attributes.
This year, even if my player steals a base on auto, they don't count for the progress. If you want to get stolen bases to count, you have to do them yourself.
Yes, they definitely wanted slower progression this year.
