MLB The Show was not on the list of games that support VRR. Did the update this morning add 120HZ support?
VRR as a whole is not yet supported for playstation, and yes the update this morning does allow us to play on 120hz but it only works offline for now.
Do you have to do anything extra to grt the 120hz. Or just make sure the ps5 in on performance mode?

There is a setting in the screen and video section of the ps5 settings. It says enable 120hz and you should set it to automatic. Also make sure that your screen (monitor or TV) supports 120hz.

This is awesome

Where does it say this game supports 120hz, even for offline? This game is never going over 60fps...

How can you find out if your TV supports 120hz? Also, if it doesn’t, should I change the setting on my PS5?

I'd suggest google the TV you're using and look for the max refresh rate. If it does support 120hz, you need to change a setting in your ps5 settings that I mentioned above.

X users have been reportedly playing MLBTS at 120hz at 60fps since last year. While hz is not the same as fps, the game implementing 120hz for PS5 users should help with online latency. This may not be noticed online until the VRR update from Sony this week.

You would probably know. Just look up your model if you don't. And no reason to use that setting if it doesn't. May cause issues. But I believe there isn't an on setting for it just automatic. Which means it will not be utilized unless you can support it. So probably wouldn't hurt now that I think about it.

If they allow 120hz online they should take away crossplay.

From what I’m reading, it doesn’t look like my TV supports it. Vizio M55-D0.

Just bought a monitor for the first time a couple days ago, I got one that only supported 60hz because I read that's all the show could do. Oh well [censored] me I guess
-
Once it transfers over to online play someone will have to give me the run down if there is a noticeable difference. I've been due for a monitor upgrade for a while but if there isn't a huge difference no sense of shelling out the cash

FPS and Hz are not the same thing. My monitor is definitely displaying 120hz after the update though, it says so not only in my monitor settings but also in my video output information in the PS5 settings.

If it's just been a couple of days, you can probably still return it? I invested in a HDMI 2.1 monitor which supports 4K@120hz despite not many games supporting it at the moment, but I knew they would at some point because that's what the PS5 can do. So I made myself future proof. It does come with a price tag though.

Now that the game supports 120hz for PS5, the input lag for the monitor I am using has been sliced by more than half. I fired up a custom practice and faced some flamethrowers on legend just to try and get a feel for the difference with this new setting. And boy it is noticeable, it feels I'm on the (too) early side of everything now. Don't get me wrong, this is a great development overall but I feel like I'm gonna have to start from zero when it comes to my timing.
I though they said it's for offline only?
That's gonna be a problem going for 120 offline to 60 online. Gonna make it even more difficult to hit online.
Did they say that? There are problems right now going online with 120hz yes, but I imagine they are going to fix this and the plan is for us to be able to use 120hz online also? If not, that would be.... interesting. To put it mildly.
They meaning @T-rox_09_MLBTS and some others on here.
Well the way it is now we can only use it offline, yes. But I don't think that's intentional, I can't imagine their strategy is that we will be able to play on 120hz offline but will have to revert to 60hz when we want to play online.. But maybe @T-rox_09_MLBTS has read something or heard something about this?
When I mentioned the 60 frames per second a week ago I was not talking about this new 120 frames per second I don't even know about that. Was that in this last patch? I have not read anything except what I'm reading right now on this thread. I have not played the game since yesterday and have not even downloaded the update yet so I don't even know what's in it.

So, I see the PS blog post about VRR. Where did everyone find out the PS5 switched to 120hz? Where is it said The Show offline is at 120hz? Is there something on the monitors that say what you are pulling in at any certain time? I bought a monitor a couple years ago and, I think, got 120hz. What settings do I need to check (and switch to, if needed) on the monitor and PS5?
