the absurdity of 22

I keep trying to keep a positive outlook on this year. The game play, to me, seems to be far superior to last year. Even though I'm on the PS4, the only thing missing is the park creator and although that would be cool, it's not a deal breaker. The card art has been outstanding so far, and as an Angels fan, I'm happy about the representation with Ohtani being the cover player.
I can't help but feel that as a non-PVP player, this year sucks. The smashup of team affinity and seasons seems to give the worst of both worlds and adds a time limit to boot. Where's the cards for daily moments? Getting 1000exp a day is worthless since I finished Faces of the Franchise 2 weeks ago. Still have not done a single one. Speaking of, what am I supposed to do until the next one? I've already done the map conquest twice and have no desire to do an advertisement for Nike that gives crappy cards that will never be on my team.
My favorite mode after SDS decided not to do anymore content in 21 was March to October. I beat about half of the teams (including Pittsburgh and Oakland.) I was really looking forward to being able to continue with a single team for multiple years, but with this version I keep getting [censored] pushed at me. Just now the only choice I was given to "Fast-Track" was a 40 year old Joey Votto. I never even signed or traded for Joey Votto! So not only did the game auto fill my roster with overpriced players, but it made one of those the ONLY choice to advance. I always hated when 21 only gave you one choice, but at least it was a player you could use to trade. A 40 year old 1st baseman? Really? Yesterday I got something similar. A 30 year old 60ovr D potential 3rd baseman. I declined because I didn't want to waste my time. Unfortunately, of the 3 opportunities to fast track a player, I was only given the chance to upgrade this player.
So once again I'm stuck with single year March to October. (I'll save that until January...again.) I guess it will have to be RTTS until, what little, content is dropped. Ubisoft did put out more content for AC Valhalla? I will not do PVP because I'm not that good. There may be people that are alright losing more than half the time, but I'm not one of them. I started playing The Show because Madden was so money hungry it took the fun out of the game. I'm afraid it's happening here.
God help us if SDS decides to model itself after EA.

You do know you can decline fast-tracks right? I've turned the Orioles into back to back title winners..
-
All offline/single player stuff has been neglected by SDS, minus MTO, which is still a DD baby.
Franchise? Pfffff.
RTTS? Pfffff.
Mini-Seasons? BROKEN.
-
RTTS is fine for me brotha.
-
You can play multiple seasons in MTO

unfortunately the selection choice (I put choices first then had to correct myself) is horrible after the first year. Joey Votto should never be one of the choices to fast track.

After the bugs are all solved it will be. I like the changes made. It's a little frustrating when you have to start over, but at least you keep the archetype.

This is the main reason I'm upset with how little DD content there is. Last year I didn't catch up to the devs until after the All-Star game. And that's even including taking a month off from work and playing day and night after my wife died.

I shouldn't have to decline them. I did though. 3 times to the same player that was worthless.

It's not even back to where it was in 20, before "Ballplayer" gave the big middle finger to offline players.
The scouting showcase that affected your draft status? Gone. Just one example.

You mean how it affected you being drafted by the O's in the 15th round or the O's in the 16th round? Or if you did really bad you could get drafted by the O's in the 17th round. For the most part, if you didn't choose your team, you got the same team over and over again. Last year I let the game decide several times and never got the same team 2 times in a row. I'm guessing you were just used to the old system and preferred that for that reason. That's fine, but to other offline players like me, it got really boring really quickly. Go into it looking at it as a new game and it's a lot better than the old one. I am an offline player.
My issues with this game are because stuff was taken out without being replaced, and what is there works poorly. Games evolve over time. A lot of 22 is better than 21 and a lot of 21 was better than 20. The same game every year with just roster updates is boring and will not be purchased every year. I got 19 and 20 and can't really tell the difference. 20 and 21 have small differences. 22 (DD content not included) and 21 have small differences, but the differences between 19 and 22 are huge and much improved.

[censored] man, I'm really sorry to hear that you have my condolences.

I just .wish they would stop replacing things that work with things that dont,if you wanna do mini seasons let us set ou own optionand pick the teams we play ,equal to our own rating from the standings menu. Like pre 21.Guess that dont sell stubbs but it beat Ranked Cheeseball

Then they would have to take the rewards out; it’s a DD mode, has to be roughly the same for everyone.

Thank you brother, it was tough. I'm actually really thankful that 21 helped me not think. Sometimes it's good to just turn your brain off for a while.
