Their non-communication has been atrocious. Fixing the mini seasons bug and dezombifying the tutorials are musts. Telling the community they're aware and working on it also should be a must. You want to be a live service game, treat your consumers respectfully when you put out hot garbage.
While I by no means think SDS is great or even good with communication they did say they were aware and working on it multiple times.
I only saw them address the issue on the first day of early access, and then yesterday when they announced the downtime, but even then they didn't address it individually. If they actually cared they would've tested the mode properly and discovered that this would be a problem before even releasing the game. Especially since it's a new game mode, you'd think they would've wanted it to run pretty smoothly to get players engaged with the new model. Personally, I don't even want to touch the game mode after I made it to the championship and now I can't even play it.

I'm sure them testing it is very different than it being fully released to the public and everyone accessing the servers at that point. Not saying it's acceptable I'm just saying I'm sure they tested it(maybe not enough tho). I also don't blame you at all for having a sour taste in your mouth about the mode, I'm debating whether or not I wanna do it again myself.

When they announced the stamina upgrade for 3 inning games they also said they were working on a bigger patch for more fixes. Hopefully that means they will fix all the issues haunting mini seasons. Will still most likely have to restart tho if you're getting 'unhandled server exception'
I feel like the bugs should've been a priority over the stamina considering, I can't even play one of the 3 inning modes anymore.
I'm sure they've had different people working on each of those things and the fixes for mini seasons probably take longer than upgrading the stamina.
The stamina wasn't even a bug I don't think. They just tweaked some sliders in the background. That's why that was fixed quicker.

I won a championship in mini seasons and after the last game it kicked me out. The game proceeded to say " there was an unhandled server exception" and still wont let me back into mini seasons. I got no rewards or anything. Started a ticket and i guarantee they dont do anything about it. Dont understand how grinding for hours turning into absolutely nothing is acceptable for a game.

I'm holding out and not restarting, just waiting for a fix and hoping they are competent enough to make it so you won't have to restart the season if this error occurred, otherwise I just wasted a bunch of time and will probably uninstall, not worth the frustration of dealing with SDS BS.

I submitted a ticket and all they said was that they were aware of the problem and they can't do anything to help rn, so good luck to you brother I hope you have success with your ticket.

@Pat_SDS_PSN @Collin_SDS_PSN Any idea when we can expect a patch for the mini-seasons "Unhandled Server Exception" bug?

It's crazy how these bugs don't seem to affect everyone. I just finished a season, without any bugs. Meanwhile my friend is playing at the same time and he's winning games and getting losses. And then he made the playoffs as the number 1 seed, and he didn't even get the rewards for finishing in the top 2 or just making the playoffs.
I think it may be console specific. I'm not for sure but it seems like the majority of the mini seasons issues are exclusive to PS4/XB1/Switch
I don't think it is console specific, I have the Series S.
i have a PS5 and tons of issues too - keep making these posts pal i am with you

Thanks brotha, its pretty sad that they have been so silent about these issues for the first 10 days of the game being out, and have just flat out ignored peoples issues. Hopefully they develop a better support system because they have a ton of issues so far.

The bugs in mini-season have been around since early access and they haven't done anything about people just flat out not being able to play a game mode. Pretty lame that I wasted my time getting to the championship, just to likely lose all my progress if they ever find a solution.
Server patches are not game patches.
My guess is that many of the issues being seen are going to require an actual patch to the game on the console and not just server maintenance.

I just made the finals of my second Mini Season after coming back from down 2-0 in the semis. Then I get the unhandled server exception. So frustrating!!
I got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in my last Mini Season and had no problems with it. Based on the other thread about this I read, maybe the server exception bug is only triggered before/after the championship series?
-
So are we not supposed to collect the Evan Longoria card at all … since they haven’t fixed Mini Seasons? (I’m stuck in the Championship round)

I finished my first Mini Series without any bugs/crashes as well. I got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in that season. I just got the "unhandled server exception" for the first time after I made the finals of my second Mini Season after being down 2-0 in the semi finals series. It seems like many of the people who have gotten the server exception get it right before or after the finals. So it may be a problem with the mode.

You'd think they would've patched that by now considering it's been a problem for almost 2 weeks now. Their lack of communication shows that they don't really care. They pump out all the content but can't fix their brand new gamemode.

I didn't play The Show 21 much at all last season. Is this terrible communication common for SDS? What about the technical glitches, has this been a common problem during the first month or so of previous game launches?

Yes, its common, very rarely do you see them actually address their games problems, even if you submit a ticket, often times they will just say there isn't anything they can do. Server issues are literally a problem EVERY year.

Oh, I kind of agree. But I know that troubleshooting, finding the root cause, and then fixing bugs is not as simple as just having people report that they are happening. It is probably made more difficult by having three console systems to patch.
My guess is that they are trying to do a big patch that "hopefully" resolves many issues instead of a bunch of small patches. They probably have to have patches go through three different console certification processes.
And this is not me defending them, just trying to be pragmatic.
I do believe that they could 100% communicate better, especially on their own forums.

Yeah, I checked the dev tracker and they reply to about two posts a day, like what are they even getting paid to do? It would just e nice if we were given an ETA for a patch or update on the progress that is being made. Literally, anything but what they are doing now would be an improvement in their communication,

What version of the game are people with the issue using? I’m on my 5th season and have not had these issues either. PS5, Digital Deluxe here.

I have game pass on Xbox Series S. But I've seen people on pretty much every console have this issue.
