Marketplace Botting - A Critical Issue
-
Hi everyone,
I wanted to draw attention to a botting service that has sprung up over the past year or so that sells their services. The service functions as an in-browser addon that automatically lists, removes, edits, etc. items on the marketplace for a user. This service has integrated themselves into very popular fan-run pages online.
This not only has the potential to cause havoc on the marketplace, but create massive imbalances in competitive play for Diamond Dynasty. They advertise making users 200,000 stubs per day using their service.
For the sake of not giving them free advertising, I am not going to mention the name of the service itself here. If an SDS employee wants to reach out to me, I can provide details.
Is something being done about this? How has it lasted for so long when it threatens an integral component of the game to it's core?

lol they wont we have people in community blatantly cheating and they dont do jack

The only way I see SDS really going after it is if it drastically cuts into their profits. Perfect example, FIFA has had this for years, it wasn’t until their profits were hit significantly and EA employees were found manipulating the market that they stepped in and did something.
In all honesty I wouldn’t be surprised if many developers are getting some sort of kick back from these services.

I would make the argument that activity such as botting the marketplace does eat directly into SDS profits. Users who are willing to spend $10 a day on botting are going to be the users who are willing to spend money on stubs. Whales going to whale, but they are going to go with the most cost affective option.

I’m sure it is but I don’t think it’s an issue where it is hitting hard. Most if not all of the whales who are dropping thousands on stubs I’m sure are buying from in game since they are mostly streamers and content creators.

That's totally different. The market is their microtransaction hub. Not that hard to see the difference.
