Mini Season matchup AI is straight trash

Was surprised to see, on launch day, there are already 99's floating around and what not, but the mini season matching is what has me thinking I'm just gonna skip this year. The matching system is straight trash. Here's me going up against the second lowest rated team in my league. I mean, thankfully I only had to contend with his number 2 starting pitcher, Mussina, rather than his ace, because apparently on day 1 everybody in the game but me has Randy Johnson (or at least everybody in my league).

How in the hell does SDS think this is going to not make people just quit? This is straight garbage.
