I think mini seasons is uninspired and boring.

They could have done a lot with this mode, but its just conquest without simulating spots on a board.

My biggest complaint, i've played two different teams that have generated full collections complete, and the most recent team has Andrew Miller, so i guess whoever i matched up with is rich lol. The CPU seems to cheat on the higher difficulty so i have to play on Veteran to make sure I win. lol.

I wish before each series they had a cut scene breaking down the team your playing's last few games, or telling us more about the team's history (even though its made up). or just something other than a paragraph.

Instead of them randomly generating teams from online, they should have made up players and give them complete backstories and their history, then they could have put leaderboards, by showing who played the best vs those teams.
Its just playing the cpu 20+ times for the Longeria card and thats the only reason i'm playing, and it sucks he is stuck behind that grind...

Come on SDS, where is your creativity at?

Agreed. Did anyone play Blitz, the football game from 10 years ago? All the teams were made up and there were little cut scenes and rivalries etc.

games had that creativity a while back lol.

Exactly, zero creativity from sds. Just boring cpu grind...

This is why companies can't win sometimes. People complain every year about fake FS cards but at least they are actual prospects and SDS has a decent track record with them. Now people are complaining that they didn't create actual fake players for them to play against.

This mode was not working for me yesterday, I won two games but after both games on the last screen it freezes before I can exit so I had to dashboard the screen and went back to check and it recorded that I lost both those games when I had won them. I am not playing that mode. Does anyone know if you can restart, Quit out the season your in to start a new one? I did not see anything that would allow that.

Its a big improvement from Extra Innings.

Probably. But that isn't saying much.

The bigger issue for me is that Rookie CPU grind is weirdly difficult this year. Pitchers are maddeningly all over the place (meatball % way down) and good contact on my part goes straight to fielders. I had a game where I hit 2 PP in a row, both line outs to fielders, and the next batter I hit a PP just foul. WTF.

I never lose to Rookie CPU, but it's more like 3-0 than 20-0.

This makes the grind less enjoyable. Rookie CPU used to be something like HR Derby, a chill mode. Now it's not. Ugh.

I think the problem is more you than mini seasons. If you are constantly playing on Veteran and not challenging yourself, yes, things get boring. Challenge yourself. It's okay to lose, it's baseball.

Also the missions reward for higher difficultly too.

You are making it boring by choosing an easy skill level.

Offline guys asked for this type of mode and SDS delivered. I knocked out a season myself, it isn't too bad. Good deal of XP and rewards are alright.

Is anyone actually losing besides me? I’m actually embarrassed. Not used to losing games vs cpu.

Actually, CPU is much tougher in 22 it seems. On Rookie, pitchers throw mostly [censored] and paint the black. It’s pretty stupid.

On top of that, more than half of my well hit balls are bee lines to fielders who don’t even have to move. Ridiculous.

CPU pitchers on Rookie should be throwing meatballs on a regular basis like in 21. That’s not the case, and it makes offline grind...unpleasant. Poorly done, SDS.

I won like 20 games on HOF to hit the XBH goal and my record was like 18-2. I was also using the cards that gave me XP...so like gold cards that are just average.

I played a game on rookie and I couldn't hit at all...was kinda crazy. I was expecting cookies all game. I then played the rest on Veteran which was super easy. Rookie was just weird.

That sucks. I had one game that I won but it counted as an L in the standings but it actually gave me credit towards the 20 AS wins needed.

The first 4 games went good and then the next two that I won counted as L so I stopped playing. I do not see a way to restart the season.

They will be adding a new reward each time a new season is update so in this case May 2nd.

The rewards will get better as you go along I could also see them add in a FoTF pack in future season, not a choice pack but a random on that would be sellable for example

I had no idea a card is hidden behind this mode. I do well with Longoria. At least his siggy the last 2 seasons, so I want it.
I've heard the nightmarish glitches, so I haven't tried this mode yet.

Yeah. I'm not attempting it until it's fixed. Wins turning to losses is no bueno.

My biggest issue with it, is that stamina doesn't impact the CPU. You have the 1st game of the series go into extras, both teams get into their pen, so that's part of your pen you can't use the next game, meanwhile the CPU can bring in the same pitchers no problem.

I like the use of stamina, but it should effect both me and the CPU.

Nothing that you said is wrong necessarily, but at the end of the day no matter what they did it'll get old fast and become a grind. You just have to be happy it's there at all to mix things up from conquest a bit.

I've personally been playing MLB the show since 2006 on my PSP. I've played THOUSANDs of hours vs the CPU. It is very difficult for me to find enjoyment in it anymore regardless of the difficulty.

I started the Mini Seasons on HOF. I have 2 diamond position players & a couple of starters. I don't like giving SDS my real life money for them to release a broken game that needs server updates and patches before it releases.

I won the first series pretty easily. Until I matched up with a team with a full collection & BR rewards, and my team didnt match up, so i dropped it down to vet. After playing about 10 games, it got VERY boring playing 3 inning games.

My point is, they should have added a story to it, make the teams mean something. Make me care that I am beating these teams. Playing 30+ 3 inning games for no reason is boring.

If they want to have mini seasons mode the way it is, DON'T lock a card behind it and not make him sellable on the market. That FORCES someone to play because he will be needed for the big collection later in the year.

I wouldn't have any fun on HOF or Legend, because the CPU rarely makes mistakes and having a team better than mine makes it hard to win and i'd rather put that time into BR or Ranked to try and get better cards than a Longeria.

I'm upset they will lock more cards behind this boring game mode.

I'm just venting is all. I know some people like it, i would like it more if at least the commentary mentioned your record or win streak, or who was leading the league in homers, or mentioned that you played the mini season mode at all. but they don't its just another game to them.

Devs took an easy road to try and make offline grinders happy, but it was very uninspired.
