I’ve heard a bunch of people try to explain what contact and vision actually affect in-game, but I’ve never really gotten a straight or full answer. Does anyone know?

Believe they each have an effect on PCI size, one for outer and one for inner. Can't recall which is which.

Vision hasn’t really been a key factor since MLB:TS19. Contact is definitely the more important of the two.

If I’m not mistaken, contact is the size of the inner PCI ring and vision is the outer. There is actually some reason to believe a high Vision attribute is a negative, because usually you’ll just pop up balls well outside your inner PCI. It’s probably better to just swing through, take the strike, and live to swing another day.

Devs have also said that if you compare 2 players with same contact rating the one with higher vision will have slightly better timing windows

I wish that would explain why I can never seem to hit with players with low vision. I am struggling with Mantle and I can think of no other reason.

But it is not just him I have noticed it in past versions too.

I think the timing window is smaller
