Theory for why hitting was nerfed so quickly
-
I think SDS must have felt people were burning through content too quickly. I'm specifically talking about Showdowns (heavy hitting focus) and getting FotF cards without buying/spending stubs to finish collections for TA points. Many built good DD squads very quickly and without buying stubs, mainly through Showdowns. Could be wrong, but just a thought.

You are spot on. I have 5 on my team bc I only pulled Ramirez at launch. So many similar names on teams again. I wish my opponent had mb 1 or 2 of the names in my line up, but when 80% of the names are identical, makes the game stale IMO. I’d like to see more pitcher content so rotations wouldn’t all be the same also

Another Tin Hat post, keep in coming guys....use this forum as your self therapy.

I actually think you may have cracked the code. But still they need to make some kind of fix to it

Just make rewards more difficult to aquire. I could do without them altogether, I just want a good fun baseball experience online like we did the first few days. Without solid gameplay the rewards don’t matter because people will be done with this game sooner than later.

It's because the best players were hitting .450 to .550 online and that's not "realistic".

Why do you guys keep playing DD if it's not fun? Clearly it's not going to change. The mode is pure RNG for a reason and it's obviously going to stay that way. Why play DD if its causing you grief and it's no fun?

Yeah that’s exactly what they did. It’s unfortunate because everyone who immediately started grinding showdown now has a stacked team full of FOTF cards. I didn’t dive into it and now it’s patched it’s no longer a viable way to grind out TA quickly as it’s set up to ensure you fail arbitrarily no matter how many runs you accumulate on the way to the final showdown. I went into the AL west show down 8-15, got to 15-15 with 8 outs remaining and failed. Not because I wasn’t doing anything right, but because the cpu engineered the situation to ensure I failed. I’m done with moments, showdowns and offline grinds now, they’ve been rigged pretty heavily.

The real reason why they nurfed hitting was because we were actually having fun. That and we were actually being rewarded for good timed hits. That's a no no for the company.

When the game released I was hitting 400 and cruising along. Then patch 1.04 came along and my averages dipped slowly. I’ve played 7 games in the 700 on hall of fame and hit was more rewarding there then in allstar
