So I just spent the first 6 hours playing the game that were available. Did a little bit of everything except RS and BR, even played a few event games. Game plays well enough as always offline, it is great. H2H didnt seem too bad, but servers arent stressed yet either. The way the new system is set up to collect players, earn stubs and get rewards seems a little bit lacking to me from last couple years though. Has me finishing up just kinda thinking, meh, after one 6 hour session. I got about 50K XP into the program or whatever its called now and of course not much to show for it yet. This is probably the lamest I have felt after release in all of the years I have played. Just feel like something is missing. Now of course I will continue to go at it and see how it pans out because it could end up being great, but I am kinda puzzled as why they would change so much on content and programs when that was their bread and butter the last 2 years. For many the way content was laid out is all that was keeping them around.

Interested to see how some others feel at this point, I know many are off to work, school or sleep. As I will be sleeping soon. But we got real baseball in a week! So that should help too.

idk I think I like the new way they're doing things now. it is the beginning of the game cycle and the first day so I wouldn't conclude to anything just yet. I also like the new way they're doing content so it's something new and different instead of the same structure as the last couple years.

Yeah, I am all about moving on and not letting anything get stale, that is why I dont marry, but team affinity and inning programs were pretty good. I guess we have to applaud them at having the ballz to try something new, when they knew how popular that stuff was. We will see how it goes. I have confidence. Plus they are known to change things up if things arent going well so, there is that.

Now remember it was popular on here and for the content creators cause the system was set so easy to know how to work everything an succeed. I love this feeling on having not a great squad to start and have to chip away. The fact last year I had an all diamond squad after the first day isn't the way it should be

I get that people were finishing TA way too quickly but this feels like a massive overcorrection. It seems like it’s going to take forever to get a team adequately prepared for ranked which is the only reason I play

True but content creators do this for a living and can drop 2k day one on the whole LS collection and claim it as a business expense at tax time lol.

Yeah last year by the end of early access I could give those teams a run for their money with my NMS team. Doesn’t look likely this year

Not gonna lie though. I dont spend any extra money and last year after about a week I thought it was gonna take me all season to finish LS. But I got it done in June. So we will see how it pans out.

Better forget all those packs you got from TA! I know that helped me finish. I also really enjoyed being able to catch up quickly on content and hop back into ranked. Doesn’t seem like an option anymore.

Yeah, in my 20 free packs I got 4 silver players and zero gold and of course zero diamonds. And in the packs earned since no gold or diamonds.

There is nothing to grind. They took a hatchet to offline content. There's mini seasons which could be great but instead of 6 team affinity programs and a huge innings program, not to mention the monthly program and daily moments program and reduced it all to 1 featured program. I guess I'll have a lot more time to go outside? But yeah, this is little more than a DLC to last year's game.

One thing I learned as NMS is to NEVER buy packs lol. After I complete the LS collection I have been known to indulge in a little Headliner action maybe, but not until then.

Speaking of, the ui feels like a demo game and did to me all of last year. This REALLY feels like a demo game with some of the crucial content missing. No TA, inning program, moments tab(hate moments). I really hope I am wrong but it feels like this is going to be a total flop for nms players unless you invest a lot of time into conquest

Mu dude monthly programs aren't even possible at this point they have event started the season. There are so many things to grind, there is 30 gold cards that have to be pxp grinded, moments, grind out mini seasons, conquest that's a grind.

TA programs were not a grind at all last year pretty easy in comparison. I think they have found a great balance here where you will need to play the game the right way to get your team

I am the weirdo who likes RttS and I noticed the in-game commentary (not the pointless podcast things) was getting stale super quickly. Kept getting the same lines over and over. And most frustratingly… they took out my last name from the audio options! It’s been in there for years. But thank god we have an audio clip for Big Papa Country Chicken or whatever the hell. And the animations seem buggy as eff. My ballplayer does this weird walking/floating/gliding movement when breaking into a home run trot.

But the game seems to be in a better place now than it was to start the year in 21. Or 20. Or 19.

I don’t think he’s complaining that there’s literally nothing to do on the game. The appealing aspect of DD the past few years is being able to obtain a god squad through programs etc. that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be much of an option this year. I’m personally not at all interested in mini seasons or conquest. I want to field a good team and play ranked
