XP CAP
-
OK, so this is all speculation until the stream Thursday; but chances are we will earn progress towards cards, programs, etc by playing the game and earning XP.
So, what's the chances SDS keeps the XP CAP limit this year?
If I want to spend the whole 4 days of Early Access grinding like crazy coked out of my mind; then that should be my prerogative.
Why have a limit on how much XP you can earn in one sitting?

Chances of the cap remaining are 100%.

I'm gonna be "Turkey Hill Orangeaded up" myself. No limit on that, but to each their own! 🤪

I disagree. While I think it is somewhat likely they keep it, it was only put in place to counter exploits (which they hopefully fixed). I also think they want people doing mega streams on twitch and hitting an xp cap isn’t a good look. I think it is more likely that they dropped the cap and bring it back quickly if need to combat exploits.

I hope this is correct.

I hope you're wrong.
If I want to spend all weekend grinding the heck out of a game, that will more than likely base it's progression on XP, then that is my prerogative.
To limit how much XP I can accrue, just by playing the game, is not a good business model.
Now if I sat there all weekend and played vs the CPU in a 1v1 matchup just so I can run the score up to 5,000 to 0 thus giving me 1M in XP; that's a different story.

And if they do have a cap, it should be like 10k xp per hour, not on a daily basis. An hourly cap lets you play DD to your hearts content, but also would prevent all exploits.

Whatever the Cap is, never seemed to become the big issue people thought it would. They immediately raised it after a few days. 60k in s day and that only includes gameplay? That's not so bad.
I'll be ice-creamed up myself.

You would be surprised how many people would hit that cap during the pre-release weekend. And everyone of them will be very vocal. Again, I think the cap is gone at launch and comes back quickly if needed (it isn’t needed if there aren’t exploits)

Does anyone know someone that was able to hit the caps?

Yes, I think I hit it once (while RTTSing the late inning programs). However, I would have easily hit it every day during pre-release and then the following weekend (along with a ton of other players I guarantee). By the time they put it in place last year, most people had already scaled back their show playing.
I want to reiterate, the only reason the xp cap was necessary was because people weee exploiting play now with custom rosters (ie the walk method). Under normal DD play, the cap isn’t needed at all.
