For me only 5 guys in the choice pack is a bigger let down than some card art. Not a lot of legends are going to compete with Mick with the same overall. His hitting will probably be really low as a result just so they can make some nonsense debate between him and Ripken or Jackie.
This mick card isn't going to be all that much better than the Mikey preorder card from 20 anyway. These preorder cards are never anything special
Yeah those and HRD cards will be qUiCkSeLl VaLuE in a week right?

Stop saying this was done because of the switch, the switch has nothing to do with this, adding an ammine card series because of a system make what sense. This was done as part of a deal to sign on the artist. You are not going to pay an artist X number of dollars for one cover. They made a deal that included additional art to include in the game maybe it was the artist request. Side let's be realy have the player base in this forum are going to pick up a switch version along with a version for one of the home base consoles.
That card art is very similar to art from nintendo switch. With Ohtani on the cover is a big reason why they went with this card art. If you can not see that than you are blind.
Umm at what point has Nintendo used amine to advertise the switch especially in North America?
This is because of Ohtani being on the cover and getting a Japanese artist to do art for the game. The switch version of the game was being developed forwell before Ohtani was selected as a cover athlete.
You must not play the switch or buy games for one. The switch has games that are amine looking characters and cartoon looking, This card art is not for an older generation of gamer. Ohtani does not make the choice who does the card art. That is decided by SDS.
People from all generations enjoy ANIME. No idea what amine is. Like I said to someone else before, there are plenty of kiddy ones but there are just as many that are as dark and deep as any other "adult" show you've seen. This 100% has to do with a Japanese superstar being on the cover.
I agree, About Ohtani on the cover but it aslo has to do with nintendo switch the two pretty much go hand and hand. The percentage of kids that play the switch compared to kids from teh 70, 80 and 90 is very high. They have Otani on the Cover and the art is ANIME which will help attract the switch players. It is all smart Marketing.

So can you explain all the dragon ball Z games on Xbox and Playstation??? How about Yakuza cause this art looks alot more like Yakuza then any switch game I have. Yes I have a switch like many many other of my 30 something friends do and I wouldn't say Mario or Zelda looks like this art.
You know what is going to attract switch players the fact they actually get a legit sports title on the systems and not just a roster update for Fifa.
If you are trying to prep this forum to blame everything that doesn't go to plan on the switch like it blamed the xbox last year can you just say that

I'm a 45 year old Yankees fan. I think the card art is stunning (as does my 12 year old son). I love the creative swing it takes as it ties into the Legends Edition cover (I also loved that). I love creative concept cards. I think NBA 2K and Madden both do a great job with concept cards. MLB The Show is a superior game to those but creatively it falls behind. As the median age of baseball continues to rise, why not make a nod to the younger generation with a card of a legend in a graphical manga/comic style they might relate to. It all helps grow the game.

Honestly I don't know too many peoples who's kids still play the switch. However me and all my friends over 30 each have a Switch and love them so not sure where you get your numbers from. I would also say that the older generation is the ones buying the Switch because of legacy games like Zelda and Mario

Now you are way off base, You have jumped off the track, we are talking about card art that is the topic, I have my thoughts on why they went with this card art that is it, No one said anything about blaming anything, Find a post where I blamed anything on xbox, Good luck with that, The only thing I have said about MLBTS21 is the pitching is terrible in this game and not realistic where players hit HR way outside the strike zone, Pitchers like Maddux are useless online.

I kinda like the artwork. I know it’s not for the traditionalist but I dig the style. I don’t care about anime either. I think they made Mickey have a bigger than life feel. Like a true legend.
-
I think the AniMantle card looks good, it’s just card art, they’re trying new things... At the end of the day, it’s a preorder card that will be out of line ups in a month anyway, so enjoy it night one.

TS Forum: This game is Copy and Paste every year...always the same.
SDS: Changes up some card designs.
TS Forum: What's with the new Cards...New card art is neat I suppose. Gameplay mechanics have minimal changes over the past few years. Graphics are nearly identical for quite a while.
New/improved hitting would benefit this game.

Agree to disagree, I do not know anyone over 40 that plays the switch, I know plenty of kids that still play them. My response was all opinion based. I still believe part of the reason for the card art is the switch aslo Ohtani being on the cover. I am not saying it is a bad thing. It is just my opinion.
