Question for flippers, investers, or stub makers.

when I think of the time needed for conquest maps that get you packs vs the time to flip (esp in the beginning) then flipping is 100% the better time investment as you can easily make more flipping in the time it takes to get a 10K card to sell from conquest.
Boring, absolutely but a more efficient use of time compared to the alternative IMO.
In the beginning you can't buy and sell fast enough. You could literally work your fingers to the bones nonstop for a week+ because orders get filled so fast.

Really depends on what you want. I wanted the 42 Jackie so I got all the 42 series cards first but if your main goal is the LS collection the best option is to sell everything that doesn't go towards that collection. Bosses, Henchmen, any type of rewards.
For me I'm too lazy to sit there and flip so I just go for live series roster update investments myself -

I horde pre orders early, flip like a madman, slowly start working towards LS collections and invest when needed.

Let's see how I can word this.
We all know, or should now by now, that certain, if not most, Legend and FB cards that are released at the beginning of the year and are program specific will carry a premium later.
But what about ones like the Gold Prospects you got from the USA Conquest map?
During the first few months these went for close to 10-12K.
Only when they (SDS) allowed you to pick all 5, instead of one, per Division conquer; did they start to drop.
They still maintained about a 5-7K value until SDS released the packs in some Conquest Maps.
Ok, so my question is this: if they do something like this again; do you just sell off what you get, even if they're needed for a small collection, and just wait until they're QS value to actually collect them?
Same could be asked for the Legend 42 players as they were at a premium for awhile because they were tied to getting 99 42 Series Jackie Robinson.
I know some of you probably flipped these cards until you made enough to warrant locking one in at a time.
I know everyone will have a different view on this.
Just curious to hear/read everyone's take on what cards you lock in right away.
Prospects: play Conquest again. And again. Repeat ad nauseum.
42: keep the freebies given out as pre-orders, inning rewards, etc. wait until mid July (or whenever a collection comes out) and pick up the rest.

I recommend selling everything that isn’t a 90+ LS until you get all of them. I had Trout after about 10 days doing this and the collection competed by June.

It will be an interesting year. We won’t have. IE at the start of the year so low level FB and Legend cards should have an inflated value that will sink slightly into the season as IE comes online. Then we will get a small position update 2 weeks after live play begins. We won’t have an update with ratings changes till mid-late May at the earliest. The market will be different this year, so past will not be prologue. That being said, I’m grinding out every free pack I can get, locking in every card and only selling doubles. Patience at the plate and patience at the market…that will be my motto after I just go ahead and buy out 1 low to mid-priced division.

Im still new....what's IE? I like the idea behind this approach, especially since I know I'll be playing all year so patience has to be my motto. I finished all collections and ended with every card but it too me a while. This year, I'm starting on day 1 and will start flipping as quickly as possible.

IE stands for Inside Edge. It is a slight adjustment made to each card’s stats based on history in real life matchups and trends. Early in the year live series cards are more viable because the flat stats of fb and legend cards are static while a certain batter may be dominant against a specific pitcher in a specific park and during the right time of day. As the season progresses the static stats in fb and legend cards outshine this. With the season starting 2 weeks later we are getting the game during Spring Training so IE won’t come online until 2 weeks in. Still, if you score a 90+ player you will have struck gold, but the magic that makes an 85 player play like an 88 or 89 won’t be there until 2 weeks into the game cycle…and I don’t need a team to take online until a few weeks into the season anyway.

Sweet, thanks for explaining. Does this have anything to do with the number below the OVR in red or green? I knew a player's real life performance factored into their active rating and whether they went from gold to diamond etc. I never really knew if that played a part on the daily and what those negative or positive numbers represented.

If I'm not mistaken; if shows up as a cores arrow. If it's pointing up; that means the hitter/pitcher does good against their opponent.
If it's pointing down; it means the opposite.
If you go into the game, via your console, you can view the players IE ratings. It's under where you go to view the Roster Update.
