Byron didn’t get a 99 this year, but he did get a monthly awards card in the first month of the year... I love the parallel system and don’t want to lose that ever, and I don’t want a power up system like EA has. But my idea would be for monthly award cards only , that each month they would go up +1 to all attributes, until the season ends. My reasoning for this is, why should a player be punished for having an amazing May or June, but be rewarded because they had a great August or September... I know we can talk about finest, all star or other cards, but I think this would be a interesting idea... Buxton’s would be able to go up 10 or 11 points if you parallel him up and he’s stats would be someone as good as Tyler O’Neill. Just and idea.

It’s Kyle 2.0’s fault for pushing Byron over Vlad.

How did Byron get punished? He was injured all year. O’Neill got a 99 because of the amazing September/October on top of how they always done these since 17. Eric Thames had a 94 in April while Carrasco had a 99 in September. That’s how it’s been always. If anything just release a new 99 Buxton or something.

You speak as if he deserved a 99 card. A guy who played less than half a season. A guy who had a good month and three quarters. And was simply average to just below average the rest of way until he was shelved again for the season by July. I understand the point you make but don’t use a player who had a great April and was done with his campaign before the All Star Break. It really detracts from your point.

Buxton was only used because he was the first one... My idea was that the POTMs would go up plus one every month to match the new cards that would come out. My reasoning is that what if the June player has a historic month, but the September player has a worse month statistically, but gets a better card because of the time of year.

I will say this EVERY time someone brings up an idea from an EA game

The less like an EA game the show is, the better.

So should old bosses go up one every time new bosses come out? Why should they be punished for being picked early?

Most of the bosses end up with a 99

I’ll take a September performer over an April performer any day of the week.

power up system would be sick in mlb the show, thats my favorite part of madden, it makes holding on to cards you have a lot of success early in the cycle with worth it, plus you wouldnt have to restart with avgs and not have that mental weight on your head.

the biggest knock on in EA is the "pay to play" mlb does free content which is great but they went a little overboard this year, we didnt need free 99's in july, especially with one of them being the best pitcher in the game.

I wasn’t suggesting a power system in an EA way, just that the POTM cards would naturally go up every month to match the new ones... I like the parallel system.

I disagree. The power up system is a total money grab. Take a player like Parsons, you would need over 2 million to power him all the way up. With the show you just need their top card and can sell all his lower cards if you so choose and didn't put them in a collection. Plus the power up thing would screw up how they do collections, which I really like.

Don’t bother, they hate ideas until there in the game then they’re the best ideas ever like the parallel system lol. In no way should what you said get misconstrued as wanting things like EA. It just comes from people that really get excited to say they haven’t played madden in “insert over exaggerated number of years” like that means something when really it means they know less about it.

Would you listen to someone who hasn’t played MLB “In EiGhT YeArS” tell you about Diamond Dynasty? Spoiler alert it wasn’t all that good before they added the things EA has like rewards, and players with actual names. Games move forward every year, then 8 years goes by and it’s a completely different thing. If you haven’t played anything else in 8 years you end up thinking MLB is the first game to ever upgrade something, after achieving something, based on earning experience points with that something. The RPG loop was invented last year by SDS.
