Boycotting next year's game.
-
I started on this game in December 2016. My son had been a big MLBTS fanatic for several years prior to. Each year since I have picked up the new version of the game at least several months after release. The past few years since 2018, I have been acquiring my own version after my son got his own PS4. In Oct 2019, the game was a free download (free game of the month for Playstation Online that month). I got the standard version for $10 from Best Buy on Black Friday in 2020 and got it for $30 on Playstation Online Dec 1 2021. You can get this (and other games) for dirt cheap if you are not in a hurry.
That all said: they need to fix the hitting and pitching in this game. Is the new pinpoint pitching worth keeping ? With the preponderance of 102MPH outliers that pitch 100+ almost continuously, I think NO. Are they rewarding 'perfect' timing too much to the detriment of good and just late, to make hitting too difficult? Yes in my opinion. Also why do I come up against players with a World Series banner when I am in the 500s in ranked seasons? Once someone gets to World Series (900+), their ranking should never go below 700 (or maybe 650) going forward. -

I'm not gonna lie to you, myself or anyone else. Sh*t probably won't get fixed. They'll probably add some minor things to the currently existing formula and slap 22 on it. And then I'll most likely still buy it. Because I love baseball and because this game's biggest strength to this day is still that you don't have to buy a single stub to get all the cards you desire. Even with iffy gameplay, that will always be a W. Once that changes, I'll reconsider. If I end up disliking the game, I'll just stop playing it like I do every year.
i hate that argument, the "you dont have to spend money to build a good team" yeah thats cool but you're using that team in modes where the game isnt working properly, ive actually switched over to MUT on madden and yeah i spent some money but its well worth it, becasue im actually enjoying playing madden, mlb i have pretty much every card, but almost every other time i log on to play a game will freeze or the connection isnt there, im wired connection to. Idk just my opinion.
Yeah the networking infrastructure is a major problem in this game. But the argument that you don't have to spend money to create a god squad is definitely true and always has been true when it comes to MLB The Show, regardless of how you feel about other fantasy sports games. To me and to many others, that will always be a W.
bulding a god squad < having the game work properly so you can use that god squad and not go crazy lol
Not everyone plays online. Lots and lots play strictly offline where there is no game play issues or freeze offs. There isnt asshats trying to cause freeze offs. I've never had a freeze off happen but I only played about 100-150 online games not 1000s
not everyone plays offline and plays the cpu on rookie, it goes both ways, people that like to compete online against other humans deserve a better online exp

Oh, don't get me wrong. I will most likely preorder. (Wondering if they'll have a version that has the PS4 and PS5 version together like they did this year as I'm getting a PS5 in June.)
This and Madden, until they release the KOTOR reboot on PS5 and I get one, are the only two games I play. So I'll buy 22.
I'm just wondering how much longer people will buy this title if the glaring bugs aren't eventually fixed.
Do they even test the game before they release it?
They beta test it for a month before release (at least that's what they did going from 20 to 21). Obviously that's not enough. Just sad.

Haven't bought Madden since 2017 and haven't missed it, even though I'm a big football fan but not even close to that with The Show. I know they have their issues and they brutalized Road to the Show, please fix that SDS, but still best sports game by far.
My last Madden was '19. I just gave up, lol
With no competing baseball game, no way they hold their breath in protest that long
Unless RBI Baseball gets touched by God, I don't count that trash as a real simulation. -

My guess is that if they keep in the cumulative wins that this becomes against the terms of service and bannable. With the right queries of their database it should not be hard to pull back profiles with a specific number of consecutive losses with < one inning played.

I don't understand why they would do this. Is getting that elite player card really so worth it? I got trout for winning 30 games (even though I am not a good player) and he wasn't hitting for me, so I sold him. The same thing happened in The Show 20 (he sucked for me on that one too). But I imagine anyone who is a World Series level player at this stage has more stubs than they know what to do with anyways.
What the h@ll is wrong with people! And I thought dashboarding was bad. -

Think the last madden I got was 19 and only because I got it for $10 in January or February I forget which

I really feel like 2017 was the sweet spot. I try to play daily but all it takes is one event game and I shut it off for the day. 2022 will be the first year I don’t preorder or play at midnight. I will buy 2022 but I will not be in a hurry to buy it and will play at my own pace.

You gotta wait for the 14 updates that are inevitable because SDS can't program or make a playable game without it freezing, or having no stamina drain on their pitchers, or bad check swing animations, 405 mph outliers on every pitcher. Yawn. This game is trash.

It must not be that bad as you keep playing the game and come onto the forum everyday. I know if I find a product to be “trash”, I give my thoughts on it once and never use it again.

I'm really curious...did somebody at SDS wrong you in some way? You truly hate them and this game. Why waste so much energy on it. I hate brussle Sprouts. So I don't eat them. I don't post on the Brussel sprouts website how their food is trash every day.

I’m guessing either his ex works for SDS or they cheated on him with someone that works for SDS.
