Fanatics Officially Bought Rights to Make Baseball Cards Today
-
Rather than waiting until 2026, Fanatics now has the rights in producing baseball cards. With that said, I guess the Show will be using them rather than Topps for 22.
-
More likely than not it'll still be branded as Topps. Hell of a strategic move by fanatics to take the competition's license and buy them for a significant discount. Whether or not fanatics can keep the Topps brand respected is a real question though

I was assuming Fanatics would purchase Topps as they're value was decimated due to losing right to producing cards for most of all the major sports in America. Actually this is a good thing and they're shouldn't be huge sweeping changes to the cards in the game. Topps brand will still be around for sure.

That's what I'm worried about also. I've had enough of media that's been dear to me degrade in quality over the years.

Will we still get a piece of Gum in each pack?

Topps stays on... TOP!

This is good news to me as someone who occasionally still buys boxes of Bowman Best/Chrome as I love baseball cards and have quite the collection.
