Question about Tagging Runners Out at Third Base

Twice last night (other instances as well), I thought I threw out a runner at third base from the outfield. They seemed to be out by a country mile, yet the ump called them safe. Once, I was even waiting for them with the ball in glove to come and they rounded third right past me lol.

It’s only my second year playing this game, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something. I’ve tried throwing it to the base and not pressing anything (seems to mostly work, but not always [like last night]). I’ve also tried moving the right stick towards the runner (that has been less successful).

I’d appreciate it if anyone has any tips.

The game does have some issues with fielders not making tags on runners. It happens in DD and RTTS and can be frustrating.

Yeah, for sure. Ok, then I’m sensing it happens to most people from time to time.

Yeah, for sure. Ok, then I’m sensing it happens to most people from time to time.

It definitely happens from time to time and is frustrating. I personally try and make sure I don’t press anything and let the tag animation take place. I have had it happen where I tried to push towards the runner since the throw beat him by so much and the fielder just didn’t attempt to tag him.

I’d say not more than an hour or so after I responded to you I had someone dead at 3B on a throw from the OF and my 3B just lazily swiped and missed the tag.
