Can someone please explain for me the difference in conquest between stealing fans and outright attacking strongholds? I’ve never really seen the benefit to stealing fans except for the fact that it obviously reduces the strength of the stronghold. But that hardly seems to figure in the strategy of the game, does it? (Good ol’ voice dictation first called it ‘ceiling fans’. LOL)

It's exactly as you just stated. Steal X amount of fans to reduce how many they have on their stronghold, making it more beneficial for you to take it over without going into the next turn and reinforcing (which adds fans to CPU spots and strongholds).

Stealing fans removes fans from that teams stronghold. Depending on the difficulty you play on you will steal 1-5 million fans if you win. If you attack the stronghold and win, you take over control and that stronghold becomes yours.

You're playing correctly. Only steal fans when absolutely necessary for map goals. Otherwise, sim every other space on the board and only play the opponent strongholds.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the number of fans you stole will be added to your reinforcements that turn.

Ah, now that’s one reason to steal fans. Tx.

I have only used it early in the main USA map so I could force a stronghold game to be played at a lesser difficulty. Once you have an overwhelming number of reinforcements it is not beneficial.

For example if you have 10 fans and attack a stronghold that has 6 fans you may have to play at all-star. Steal 2 million of those fans and you can play on veteran.
