I’ve never claimed to be a top player, and I know there are guys out there that can hit very well. Therefore, I admit there is plenty of room for my improvement. But….
In my last five Ranked games, all on HoF, I’ve played 51 innings, collected just 31 hits and 8 runs. In one of the games I had three runs, so the other five runs are spread over 4 games.
My point is: it has gotten entirely too hard to hit on HoF. In year’s past I hovered around a .280 batting average and played most of my games on HoF. In ‘21, I’ve dropped to .240.
From other players’ recent posts, I know I’m not alone. So, SDS, I think the community is telling you something. It appears we’ve entered the dead ball era in your game. That’s not fun for most people.
Please tweak the HoF setting in ‘22, and make it somewhere in between what AS and HoF is now.

The less people that play, the worse the connections get. I think the majority of people left playing this game live close to the alleged servers. Anyone with good internet that doesn't live by the server punted this game a while ago.
I haven't played many games the last month but I'm off until after the new year so I may play a few games. I suck now so expectations are at basement level. I expect several freezes.

With online play so unenjoyable, I went to play Franchise. I put Rickey Henderson, Tony Gwynn, Ozzie Smith, Gary Sheffield, Mike Piazza, Ryan Klesko and Robby Alomar on the Padres, set it to Hall of Fame, and went against Live Series Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks.
I only swung at good pitches. And put good swings on them, too. I only got four hits. I only struck out once and drew four walks, but was 0-2 on perfects.
So after giving up a game-tying homer in the 9th inning (because of course), I maxed out the sliders, went down to All Star, and went 2-2 on perfects (triple, single) to get the walk off win.
I was late to the game. I only bought it during the 8th inning. And I’m not a complainer. I’m just saying what I’ve experienced.
After approximately 80 ranked games (I’m 55-31 or something like that), nearly the same amount of Event games, 10 BR games, and two games on HoF in Franchise, my assessment is this: this game isn’t fun.
It is too unforgiving on HoF; swings have to be perfect to get a hit, and even then it is only about 50/50.
We know the content in ‘22 will be great. SDS, somehow, someway, continues to improve the content year after year. But I hope they make some adjustments to the offense, and that those changes are part of the marketing campaign.

I read this post and saw 31 hits in 51 innings and thought you were making fun of the players who complain about how hard the game is. I think I’ve got 31 hits in my last 200 innings, mostly on all star despite solid PCI placement and timing on a majority of my swings.

Not making fun at all. I consider myself slightly better than average. But 31 hits in 51 innings is only about .168 average. So if you’ve only managed 31 hits in 200 innings, I know you are probably pretty frustrated as well.
And that is what I was getting at: much of the community isn’t having fun in this dead ball game.

I’m okay with not getting hits all the time, my problem is that the game is terribly lopsided against me almost every game I play now. I’ll put good swings in the ball in good counts and I popout/ground out/flyout/lineout. My opponent will have the ball on the top line of the inner pci with early/late timing and hit a homer or a double in the gap when the exact same swing for me is an out 10/10 times. Like should they just get rid of showing your opponents’ pci, because it’s either broken or just shows how much the game picks a winner before the game starts.
