They’re both “baby” modes but the half-strikezone sized PCI on rookie think makes it harder cause you get crappy contact easier. I remember playing ranked for a couple hours and I went to go play vs CPU for Griffey Sr and forgot it was on rookie. In my opinion I got less hits cause the pci was too big. Anyone agree? (Although the game I’m talking about I only played for 3 innings so maybe that’s part of it?)

I use to play conquest games on rookie. I was scoring 1-2 runs a game.
Switched to All Star I'll put up 5-7 runs a game.
I agree with you on the enlarged PCI on rookie.

100% true. Plus the pitch speeds are easier to time because they are more realistic. Rookie is just way too slow. Also the ball just seems to come off the bat harder when the pitch speeds come in faster. Plus the PCI on rookie doesnt reach far enough. You have to swing at only pitches in middle part of the zone for good contact. All Star you have more freedom to move it around and can hit more pitches hard. I never play conquest on less than All Star.

I thought the same thing when it comes to hitting. I smash the computer in Conquest on All-Star and play closer games on veteran or rookie. I use analog swinging, throwing, and pitching, so that might have something to do with it. Maybe I swing and miss the ones I would have gotten out on, LOL.

Psychological. When you play rookie you press too much, eager to kill the ball. The sweet spot is still the sweet spot. If you waited on pitches like you do for AS, you'd score 30 runs a game.

Allstar settings seem the most realistic for DD Custom sliders not available I play extra innings mode a lot , it seems to make the game fair for both sides . I DO lose a few to them 98 rated teams. If you winning every game it aint a game
