Random On-Line Match-Ups Needs to be LESS Random
-
In Ranked we do have a slider that can keep the Match-Up within those currently within the same ranking. However it is still too random. I ALWAYS keep the Slider to the far left. At times I"m matched with someone that either has a winning percentage over .600+ (or) those just within .450 to .550 (or) those under .400
My current win percentage is about .400 to .420 & I fair off better against players that have similar win percentages. When I'm playing those with a win percentage being .600+. I am clearly out matched by them. Regardless that their Ranking being currently within 80 to 100 +/- of mine. When I myself do get Matched Up against someone that is around .350 or even less, then I am out matching them & its eiter an easy Win or them just quiting.
I just think the Match Up "Engine" needs to be modded so that apart from just ONLY Ranking Score, that it FIRST tries to Match Up opponents via Win -Loss Percentage. This way BOTH players are more evenly matched & gives both a fair 50/50 or at least 60/40 chance of winning. NOT a 70/30 or 80/20 chance of winning.
What do you guys think?

Doesn't make sense, so a .550 player should get an easier time making WS then someone who has a .750 win percentage?

A .550 player will most likely NOT make it to WS because eventually once getting to DS & CS, there will NOT be many to match up W/L Percentage & the ENGINE will then go by Rank Score. I'm suggesting that it tries to match W/L Percentage 1st before it defaults to searching for Rank Score.
As well I do NOT play ranked trying to get to WS or even up to DS. I play ranked because its more fun then playing AI. I love games that are 9 Innings & decided within 1 to 2 Runs. Regardless if in my favor or not. I had a FAIR shot at winning & my opponent just beat me. Big difference with being clobbered by 6 Runs or more by someone having a W/L Percentage being .600+

Plenty of .550 people make it to WS right now, not only elite people make it there. There is already plenty of those type of people in DS and CS.
And just because you don't play to make WS, doesn't mean you can ignore the consequences of such changes, because it effects other people who do play that way.

I thought the way they match up do to ranking is based on what division you're currently in?

Nope. It's within a minimum bracket thats are ranking within 80 points lower & higher then you have. If you are in RS & just within 40 to 60 points of hitting WC. Then you can easily be matched up with someone thats within lower WC even though you are in RS

The bracket spread of points goes higher if you increase the slider.

I don't think this would actually work like you think it would. You could have a noob who's 20-10 match up with a world series player who's 200-100. Same win % but very different skill levels.
Similar win % does not necessarily mean similar skill level

But 20-10 & 200-100 is still a .750 W/L Percentage. How many games were played does not matter. Its the Percentage Vs their Wins & Losses. Both those examples shows both players are skilled enough to win double the amount of games they lost.

Yes but dude who's played 30 games mostly on veteran and all-star is nowhere near the skill level of the dude who's played 300 games on HOF and legend. That's a huge mismatch.
